When the leaves stop falling v Two ordinary lives, some regrets become one broken heart that won't forget Treasured each moment here with her now I see the world through a tear
c When the leaves stop falling we'll be together for eternity When I hear her sweet voice calling softly saying, darlin' time to be with me When the leaves stop falling it's time to say my goodbyes when the leaves stop falling once again I'll be by her side v known the sadness of no tomorrow when every minute just brought me sorrow Taken all the pain loneliness sends thinking all the time when will it end? B1 One night I had a dream, saw her so vividly. Though it might be years from now she told me she'd always wait for me. Music B2 When the autumn turns to winter as the final leaf falls to the ground my hand will be in her hand and at last we'll be free c When the leaves stop falling we'll be together for eternity When I hear your sweet voice calling softly saying, darlin' time to be with me When the leaves stop falling it's time to say my goodbyes when the leaves stop falling once again I'll be by your side

I like the touching theme of the song.
I also like the analogy of leaves falling from a tree as aging and the end of life.
One idea to keep or sweep.. if the moment of death in the analogy is more closely tied to the leaf leaving the tree, rather than the last leaf on the ground, then it opens up potential of freedom and adventure far better than life. does a falling leaf fall? or does it fly? do the leaves ever have to land?
possible lines might be something like.
when the last leaf has left the tree is when we will at last be free so fly my love far and wide and i will soon be at your side.
