I really enjoy Brett Young's stuff. Apparently others do.

Since I don't text, Twitter or do Facebook... and seldom listen to Radio these days, I was unaware of Brett Young. I'll do my best to find some of his music up here in Dinosaurland.
Thanks for sharing. Poor guy is with ASCAP (like me) and I hope he finds a way to escape.

He's doing pretty good. Was a pitcher at Ole Miss until his elbow went out. With the path to MLB cut off, he became a country music star. Resourceful guy. Movie star looks and a un-refined but earnest voice dont hurt him. His songs are pretty and heartfelt. And surprisingly, some of them that make it to the radio don't portray him as the hero on the horse, guns a blazing.

Try....."In Case You Didn't know" and "Misery."

Martin

Eh, Well,
I clicked on the Link to see if I could listen to him but could find nothing. I will look for him later. His story of trying to be a baseball star reminded me of an earlier artist who had an injury and couldn't play anymore. His name was Jim Reeves, a huge Artist from the 50's and 60's. One of his big hits was Mexican Joe.

Here you go Ray. I suspect that you have heard this song. Got a lot of radio play.

Thanks for posting the link, Martin:

You are 100% correct. This young man will go far if things "line up" right for him in today's warped music world. I hope he can avoid the "touring trap" that seems to devour so many young people and turn them into druggies. It is a terrible price to pay unless the artist has some control over where, when and how often they perform.

I was amused while watching the video... an "AD" appeared suggesting I listen to some other artist. It is sad that labels believe listeners are all mindless teeny-boppers.

Thanks again, for sharing and taking time to provide the song-link.

All the best, ----Dave

Thanks Martin,
I listened to the song. Like a lot of Artists today I would say he needs more practice and better material. He sounds like too many of today's artists. Nothing stands out.

There's some truth to that Ray. But after all of these decades, the path trodden by pop music of all kinds is pretty well worn. It's tough to be "ground breaking." As for Brett, I like his stuff. I don't think that he is trying to stand out with the material. I suspect that he is trying to make his overall brand sell.
