Working on the music tonight..will try and sing tomorrow..revised lyrics..thanks glyn
I’ve Been There
It hurts to see my children cry Knowing there’s nothing I can do Can’t tell them I know how they feel That’s not what they need to hear I can feel their pain is real
I’ve felt the worst pain in this world Many nights I’d not sleep a wink I’d hide ..not let them see me cry So I know the pain …. BEHIND my childrens eyes
I try to hold them No matter how old they are They’re still my babies Wanna protect them from this world When they look me in the eye Ask how can this hurt so bad Mama Please…take this pain away I search my soul………….. Find the right words to say Inside ..I feel… my heart dying I see the pain upon their face
All I can say is baby I…..know, I’ve been there
I’ve wondered many times My world turned upside down How can this life keep moving on As I raise the shades , let in the light When did the night… turn into the dawn
Many times i've found MYSELF On my knees searching for my pride Stumble outta bed forced to open up the doors Can’t count on one hand How I’ve scraped my heart off this floor
Yeah, I’ve been there
So I try to hold them No matter how old they are They’re still my babies Wanna protect them from this world When they look me in the eye Ask how can this hurt so bad Mama Please…take this pain away I search my soul Find the right words to say Inside …I feel… my heart dying I see the pain upon their face All I can say is baby I……know
I’ve been there
In my life people have let me down, hurt my feelings, made me cry,… I’d let it go.. hide my feelings deep inside..but I can't explain how it feels to see my children cry
Yeah, I’ve been there
Baby I’ve been there
Man, I’ve been there

This is The Real Deal...DO get some music behind it & let's see how it Sings! Think ya got a BEAUT of a Song en route here that MANY a Parent WILL identify-with. (Especially a Single Parent..& NOW they are in the Majority..Alas-but-True!)
a Sad One with incredible STRENGTH and REALITY behind it...a Killer Combination!!! Good Luck with it...and all the Stuff that led to it, M'LadyChum!

Oh how nice is this,,..How many mothers feel the same way.. They just don't believe that we are vulnerable too and had our ups and downs,,we are mommy tower of strength and we try to convey that in them for their sakes..
Great Darlene

H i Glyn,
Hey this one is great. Anyone with children can relate. There's nothing a parent wouldn't do to take away a childs pain. very good write you have here. Is there a link where I could listen to this song? Or is it not that far yet? i would love to hear this one. Take care, Roger

When life makes my children cry Knowing there's nothing I can do Even though I know how they feel That’s not what they need to hear The pain on their face is real
When they've given up all hope Marriage and a broken home Life's not easy, bumps in the road Takes a moment to fall in love A lifetime to forget.. and I know
The Pain Behind My Childrens Eyes
No matter how old they are They’re still my babies When they look me in the eyes Ask how can this hurt so bad Mama Please…take this pain away Trying to find The right words to say.... I know ..
The Pain Behind My Childrens Eyes
Been there myself once or twice I know what they're going through Wish I Could take their pain away As I raise the shades , let in the light When did the night… turn into day
Muffled cries in the dark I've paced these floors all night When my kids hurt I can't ignore Just like when they were young Again, I scrap my heart off the floor
Yeah, I know The Pain Behind My Childrens Eyes
No matter how old they are They’re still my babies When they look me in the eye Ask how can this hurt so bad Mama Please…take this pain away Trying to find The right words to say I know too well...the pain
Behind My Children's Eyes.............................
Five years old or 35, the pain a parent feels can't be explained...while she sleeps...tears of mascara flowing down her cheeks.. I know...the pain.........
Behind My Childrens Eyes.........

Hi Glyn, Such a deep emotional song. It just says so much about life and feelings of a mom, and I love the music you are working on. It just fits your lyric so well!

I tried to match the lyrics to the song but I believe I got an entirely different song, the one called "The Crying Woman". Your lyric to the one posted is very powerful and I am sure there are boatloads of these tears being cried down in Florida right now after yet another major school tragedy. While we're at it, Glyn, is there any follow-up to the interview I did with you some three years or so?

The lyrics are very moving. I like it a lot. Its so true, they never get too old to stop worrying and feeling their pain. Great song.

Am just wondering if this lyric has been set to music yet. When you wrote it you no doubt were feeling the urge to express yourself and your values passionately, intensely and possibly obsessively. Very often your own pain becomes magnified when one's children are feeling the same things you may have also felt yourself. Curious as to whether this is a true story, maybe yours or perhaps someone else close to you.
