As we hit the dog days of summer, I'm reminded of how my father used to take us to the beach to cool off. I was still little but I remember all the fun I had on those hot Saturdays.
Poseidon’s Daughter
Down on the beach with her red plastic shovel Elizabeth builds her home by the sea Brown sugar towers with kelp crenellations She can’t hear her mother; she’s lost in her dream
Come and dance on the shore like the sun on the water Hear your heart pound with the sound of the waves This is your kingdom, Poseidon’s true daughter Close your eyes sweet Elizabeth, he’ll take you away
Feet in the foam as the waves leave the shoreline Elizabeth digs for crabs in the sand Chasing them down through their tiny damp tunnels She laughs in delight when they tickle her hand
Come and dance on the shore like the sun on the water Hear your heart pound with the sound of the waves This is your kingdom, Poseidon's true daughter Close your eyes sweet Elizabeth, he'll take you away.
Up in a high rise deep in the city Elizabeth clutches a handful of shells Pale ivory clams and blue periwinkles Even asleep, she’s still caught in their spell
Come and dance on the shore like the sun on the water Hear your heart pound with the sound of the waves This is your kingdom, Poseidon's true daughter Close your eyes sweet Elizabeth, he'll take you away.

Howdy J! Great imagery here! Not sure how singable 'crenellations' is but I loved the pictures you've brought... -Chuck
