https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13769717Another song sung and produced by Mike Zaneski. I've had this one on file for a year or so with a vocal and music by Mimmo Mecurio an Italian/ Canadian singer and writer. I did a rewrite on the lyric and with Mimmo's permission changed the song from a pop ballad to a folk ballad with Mike leading the way. Please have a listen and leave your thoughts. Regards Travis SWEET DREAMS TONIGHT V In my dream there's a causeway, she's waiting for me suddenly the tide appears i'm washed out to sea. Then through the day it's getting over it's the end it's a wheel within a wheel it's always the same. round and round again C Please send me sweet dreams tonight, only those sweet dreams tonight. Pick me up, carry me to wherever she might be Please send me sweet dreams tonight Only those sweet dreams tonight when my head hits the pillow carry me please carry me.. V Thought many times does she miss me like I miss her? when parting as friends she said, you know I'll always care Though we fell out of love, sure we could try again after all that time together, hard to believe it's the end.it's the end Br I'd sent her a birthday card, she thanked me with, a phone call Where we talked for hours and went through it all, Didn't once, argue at all at all C

Hey Travis,
Tried to give this a listen, but the link bought me to a hip hop artists page. I didn't see your song anywhere on the page. It says the artist is:
WC-RYDAZ
Maybe the problem is on my end, but every time I tried the link that is where it sent me. Ill come back another time.

Link is working fine now. Listened a few times. Always amazed with Michael's productions. I enjoyed the tune, as well. A few things that hit me. The word "causeway" I understand in the context of the meaning of the song, though it struck me as a bit odd. I have to let that word choice sink in for awhile. I am not saying it is a wrong choice, just a bit strange to my ears. I didn't read the lyric, before hearing the tune. After listening to the first verse and chorus, I immediately thought this was a song about someone grieving over the death of either a spouse or significant other. I am not sure why that is where my mind went, but was pleased to learn thereafter, it was more of a song about grieving over a break up of a long term relationship. I was hoping for another verse to confirm they rekindled the romance after that long phone call. Good stuff. Dave

Hi Dave Thank goodness it's working again lol! I rewrote the lyric and wanted something different hence causeway came to mind after a visit to Lindisfarne a while since. Thanks for the listen your patience and thumbs up Travis

I enjoyed that a lot - really nice melody line and chords, and Mike has created some fine ear candy and strong vocals. I don't know what the original version sounds like but this folk ballad approach is right on the money. The chorus works particularly well for me - I found myself anticipating each repeat.

Hi Travis. The music works well on this. Not sure why the bridge is where it should be. To my mind a musical bridge is a link, as in a link between similar parts like chorus-bridge-chorus or verse-bridge-verse to break the monotony. This has verse-bridge-chorus. Other than that spot it flows well.

Nice work you two...a lovely song that flows along gently from start to finish.
Super outro!
Enjoyed it.

Great collaboration by you and Mimmo... and Mike Zaneski knocked another one out of the park for you. I hope you can get Mimmo to join our shrinking population of warm-hearted songwriters.

Hi Dave Thanks for the feedback. Hope you are keeping well Yes it's getting too quiet recently. There was a span of over 24 hours without a comment on f3. Songs used to fly up and down like a brides nighty. Cheers John

Travis, Mimmo and MIke:
Nicely done, gentleman—pretty lyrics and slick production. I’ll confess it’s not quite my type of tune, but that’s just a personal preference, and there are a bunch of folks who will love and deserve to hear this song. Good luck with it!
All the best,
Deej

Hey guys!
What an enjoyable listen--unique song too that really "pulls" one in. I might like to hear no verse harmony until after 2:00 just to slow the build a bit--JMO, not a nit. I really like the combo of you two together!

Hi Guys, I haven't given up on my version yet...I'm planning on getting back to it soon. Mike did a great job on this. I have listened to it quite a few times over the last week or so, I thought the back up vocals and some other instruments could have been a bit more upfront, other than that sounds good. Regards Mimmo

I saw your post yesterday, Mimmo but had a "Song-Cake" in the oven and couldn't break away. I understand the feeling you go through after the demo has been completed. We all tend to think... "it could have been better if only".... you get my drift. That's the beauty of music... nothing is really "cast in stone" and experimentation can sometimes create an even better work of musical art... sometimes not! LOL!
Just wanted you to know I'm glad you're here and already posting. Looking forward to your next creative effort... and, of course, your posts.
Best, ----Dave

Best, ----Dave Hi Dave Yes I know....That's one of the things I like about collaborating , everyone looks at a song mix differently and everyone has their own ideas. Each song is a learning experience for me, I guess because I sing I pay more attention to the vocals first and then everything else. Music is a beautiful thing!!! Regards Mimmo

That's great, Travis. I really like the way the BBC does this. If I was in the UK, I would definitely be trying to follow this route. Even though I'm British, I don't think I qualify, living over here Can we listen on the internet. I know I can just listen at Soundclick, but it would be neat to hear you on the radio,

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p012bzttHi Gavin The presenter gave the artist as the Travis David Band. Much to the annoyance of Mimmo my co writer and myself. Very odd as well as he's played 5 or 6 of my songs and got it right Cheers for your feedback
