Raleigh, ya'll
Please check out the JPF Honor Roll this year.. It is at the top of every Forum....2 Members, count that ...2.... have actually contributed this year...JLS & Ricki Bellos!!! I am sincerely sorry that I even started the 'Telethon' threads...Because that gave Brian the false hope that enough people actually cared.

My bad...."No good deed will go unpunished"....

But there is still a little yellow "Donate" button, as you read this, to your right.

Peace...Out...Midnite....

P.S....And no, I will not respond to this post or any PM's...I have said everything that I've needed to say....I'm moving on....

Hi, Midnite Bob,

This is likely too little too late--and for that I'm sorry--but I'd like to say, first, that I appreciate your efforts to rally our community to support the site. I'm sad your disappointment in our collective lack of response has lead you to "move on"--we're too few it seems these days to lose good members. So I'll keep fingers crossed we'll win you back.

I will say that while I don't have the time to post as much as I'd like, I visit the board fairly often. And in my own, likely lame defense, whatever campaign push there was this year to support the site . . . well, I missed it. So perhaps there's a way we can make an annual push for donations a bit more transparent (which, yeah, I know, requires more money!).

At any rate, I'm in, and I hope the contribution can help make a difference--though I know it's likely a drop in the bucket. The thing is, if not for this site, even as anonymous as my submissions are, my songs and voice (for better or worse) would not be heard. That's true for all of us. And it's worth pitching in to keep this place going.

Hope to see you back, Bob.

All the best,

Deej

I usually donate once a year, my bad!- if I've not done so in a year. I will definitely get to the donate button! I would like to see $50.00 annual membership, at least $25--and of course some may be inclined to donate more. What about sending PM reminders on our birthdays for automatic reminders for dues or at least donations? -- Just an idea?

Bob, thank-you for your efforts to motivate us, I know I haven't checked in much this past year, as I put in a lot of hours working/traveling and haven't had much time for songwriting or these JPF threads--but I still feel an obligation to donate at least modestly as this organization provides us with this great website for our recreation and social music activities. As artists, we should IMO support the organization if we utilize it whether posting often or just reading posts leisurely for our own enjoyment------period.

Donation made.

Hey Midnite,

As a long term JPF bud, I wish you well. And I hope you will break a law, in each of the 50 States. ( private joke )

Your contributions here, both public and private say a lot about your integrity and your support for the arts.

In any community, you are going to get complacency, and JPF is no different. Like Eddie, I have made a voluntary contribution to JPF this year, but it took a "prod" to remind me that I've been here for +10 yrs now, and my output in lessons learned, is far greater than my stories told.

Happy travels bud, and I hope one day, our paths will cross again.

cheers, niteshift

Aw hell...how did I miss this? Say it ain't so, Midnite! What a bummer and a half...but your frustration is understandable. The laws of inertia being what they are, maybe your post will knock some lazy bodies into action...we can only hope. If you do ever wander back and see this, know that you are missed and hopefully, wherever you have moved on to has brought you joy. All good things,

Ricki

Hopefully you didn't mean you were leaving the board altogether Bob... I think you may just be saying you're moving on from being the donation cheerleader. I deeply appreciate your efforts and though it's not a LOT of money, it is, in fact, our only income these days and anything we get to offset the mandatory costs of the site helps. I think people actually wait to hear your nudges to donate knowing it is "that time of year" again and unless you just don't want to do it anymore, it's helpful to get a couple hundred bucks give or take at least to pay the cost of the domain and some towards hosting. I keep hoping to get going on YouTube but my health and the health of family has been so poor that I just never seem to get started. But I am going to keep getting ready as best I can and I hope the boards can be an offshoot of any activity I generate there. I've never done this for the money... JPFers are my extended family (especially in light of losing some of my very small family this year) so I hope to keep it moving along as long as I can. So if you can nudge a half dozen extra people to donate, that money makes a huge huge difference. (It also counts as income for TAX purposes which allows us to exist as a company).

So to anyone who wants to help us out a bit, send us a few bucks or more via the paypal link top right. Thanks in advance!

Brian
