Here's a song for a friend that past away. I wrote this song the day he died. It was played at his funeral. His mother was so moved by this. When she saw me at the funeral, she grabbed on to my hand and was so thankful. "Passing Through Us": http://johnlarenceschick.com/homeJohn

John you know I respect your talent, and you seem to have gotten this right and the guys voice is something right out of church.
But if I'm being honest? This creeps me out!
I buried my mom nearly three years ago, dad, nearly 8, uncles and aunts and friends, and it seems every day I live, somebody else goes.
I don't want people to feel this way when I go, I want fun music playing. Quite possibly the Ramone's.
Lovely in its own right, but not for me, maybe I'm on overload...

Humm, People many times say what music they want played at their funeral. I lost a brother last October. He wanted Country music played. So that is what was played.

Charles... yes, I agree, it's a good feeling using music for these situations. Therapeutic for me as well. Fdemetrio… we all handle grief differently - and music. My one uncle got the creeps when he heard pipe organs. "Passing Through Us" isn't exactly a funeral dirge. My thoughts on funerals are that it's a time to express what the deceased meant to you (thus the meaning to my lyrics). This song brought comfort to his family and girlfriend just knowing he had friends that had warm feelings for him. I'm sure there are others that feel like you about funerals. When I was younger, I refused to go to them. Always seemed morbid to me. Now, it's all about letting the family know what the person meant to me. A tribute to their life. When a love one dies, I don't think any music is going to wash away the feelings of loss. Thanks for your honesty. I really didn't consider that side. Ray... Yeah, even at funerals you have to play the crowd. Whatever music works is a good thing. Best, John

My brother passed this year. He had a bagpiper playing Amazing Grace. I am traditionally a blithering idiot at funerals. I was doing well until the bagpiper played this.
I give you credit John, for doing this for your friend.

Hey Rick! Bagpipes at funerals? They're used often in military/ law enforcement funerals. Was this the case with your friend? Best, John

Gavin... bagpipes are definitely interesting instruments (both and sound & construction). They do set an atmosphere. John

It's a lovely tribute John. I knew it would be before I listened.
