A song I wrote a year or so ago, but just reworked. Just a bit of fun about how music can bring us all together. At least it would be nice if it could. The weird thing is... I actually have a pick-up Click to listen at SoundCloudAs always, all comments, suggestions, advice, etc. appreciated.

Hey Gavin,
That was a great listen. Must have been one of the most anti-red neck songs I've heard. "Patsy Cline and red wine ? " Achmed also gave me a giggle.
I got a front porch too, with a rocking chair. Will have to pull your song up full blast at the passers by, especially those dressed in Lycra whilst pushing the pram, while hubby sips his de-caf skinnny, soy milk double cold extracted cup of mud. Whilst they're talking of "them folks" of course.
Made me laugh.
cheers, niteshift

Another solid write here, Gavin. Clever and funny.
The reference to Islands In The Stream would indicate someone who has been a Country fan for a very long time!
Enjoyed it.

Thanks for listening Niteshift. Not so much "anti-redneck" as I thought it might be funny to imagine somebody with the most stereotypical "un-country" attitudes and lifestyle trying to get on with his neighbors. I'll admit it's just a tiny bit autobiographical LOL.
Floyd, you're right about me having been a fan of country for a long time. Not quite old enough to remember Patsy when she was alive and, yes, I love Dolly.

Cute song Gavin. You have a knack for musical-political-commentary. I listened to the liberal elite song also and enjoyed it. I caught a good deal on an F-150 last year, so I'm afraid the mirror image in the song is me. But that's okay, I'll still sit on your porch and drink a double IPA with you. Martin

Thanks Martin. I have a beer in the fridge for you. And yes, I do enjoy an IPA. That might have been a good thing to have in the song.
I'm not sure how much political commentary there is in this one, but I do think that is something best done with a smile. Nobody enjoys being harangued.

Great fun. My favorite line: "good Christian folks and their husbands". Very nice acoustic guitar lead as well.

Thanks Vic and Mike. Living on a dead end road in a small town in western North Carolina, I'm surrounded by folks who would proudly identify as rednecks. I think they tolerate me and my strange ways because I'm a "furr'ner" and they make allowances. If I was a different species of furr'ner, with the "wrong" plumage, it might not always be so easy to be different.

Crystal clear production. Well done. NPR is the mainstream media? I loved the lyric ... kept waiting to see who next name to drop was. Very fun song "And I think most of the folks who own guns shouldn't cause there off their rocker." Love it! The lines just kept coming or "keeps on flowing." Loved it.

This is funny and well thought out, Gavin...who would think to rhyme French wine with Patsy Cline or hot dogs with chilli and Willy? If only it was that simple though, eh? Ricki

Thanks Dave, Ricki, Bob and Travis for listening and commenting. Bob, smiles on faces is what I was going for, so glad I succeeded in your case.

Thanks for the smile, cleverly written and nicely performed. Sounds like you had as much fun making it as I did listening to it and that's always a great thing.

Well we're assuredly not rednecks but we equally assuredly have the accent!! This was a lot of fun and jam packed with creative funny lines. And of the course the title had to have the obligatory double negative Good job on the production...it well supports the tune. Fun!!!! J&B
