If It Was Christmas
by Jacqueline Richter

I wish it was Christmas,
How fun would that be
The lights would twinkle
On my Coconut tree
If it was Christmas

I would bake coconut cookies
And make a snowman out of sand
Listen to loud Christmas music
With a fruity drink in my hand

I would hang up my flip flops
Decorate my sailboat with glee
I would put on my Santa hat
You could join my party for free

I wish it was Christmas,
How fun would that be
The lights would twinkle
On my coconut tree
If it was Christmas

I wouldn’t be baking in this summer heat. I’ll make a wish on a starfish. Only six more months to go.

I would wrap up the presents
And hang up the stockings
I will have Caribbean Christmas
Keep the popcorn a popping

I wish it was Christmas,
Not one hundred and three
The lights would twinkle
On my coconut tree
If it was Christmas
