A unique sound - and your vocal fits the song well. Really nice guitar playing. The feel of the song conjures up Harry Chapin.

Owen,
A cool song. I enjoyed the listen.
Like Mike (above), I got a Harry Chapin vibe from it (before reading his comment)...

Thank you everyone for the feedback, always appreciated! Harry Chapin is wonderful, so anything that draws a comparison with his style is fine by me

Hi there Owen. I like it. Reminds me of Mark Knopfler in many ways. I wondered what it would sound like with some power chords on first beat of the bar in the chorus. Just an idea. Vic

Love the guitar! I don't know that I would have spotted it if Vic hadn't pointed it out, but there is indeed a kind of Mark Knopfler feel to the guitar and vocals. That can't be bad!
Enjoyed it.

The guitar and vocal are very engaging...actually the whole production is.
Creatively different!
We enjoyed it.

Enjoyed it. The picked guitar at the end of the chorus is the more noticeable, like a mini-solo, but the strong alternating strumming is really the heart of the song, but it's leveled down in the mix to allow the rest to come through. Mr Knopfler is so far ahead of me it's ridiculous, but if it puts you at all in mind of him then no, that aint bad at all!!

Owen,
I'm not too familiar with Chapin’s work to see the comparison others have mentioned, but I can the Knopfler comparisons are good. Actually, on my second listen, it actually gave me a little bit of an R.E.M. vibe. Anyways, I really like the song. Love the internal rhymes throughout—I’m a sucker for them. For me the harmonies on the chorus overrun each other just a tad for my ear—though as no one else has mentioned it, it’s likely just me. So use or lose, as they say.
Great work, though—very fresh and well written tune!
All the best,
Deej

Thanks for the input Deej. I'll probably leave the harmonies alone at this point, I think that's likely a matter of taste - and it won't be to everyones! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for the feedback!
