If u dont have a rock album, at least try....
The Daltrey article made me do some soul searching for albums, Couchgrouch was no help, he doesn't know of any...
I think Daltrey was speaking about innovation, I can't honestly say I heard much innovation in the y2ks, but there is still tons of great rock albums, they just won't make all time lists
American Idiot - Green Day Is this it- The strokes Arcade Fire - The Suburbs Elephant- white stripes ( a Jack White Band) The Rackonteurs- Broken Boy Soldiers ( a Jack White band) The Dead Weather - Sea of Cowards (- Jack White band) Lazaretto- Jack White Blunderbuss- Jack White Hot Fuss- the killers Sams Town- The Killers Battle Born - The Killers The mind bending sounds of the chesterfield kings-the chesterfield kings
And perhaps the most under appreciated album of the y2k's or any time period
1. Streets of New York- Willie Nile!

Ha! It's more that I don't care for a lot of others, but in trying to avoid being a curmudgeon, I come up with a few..
I'm not a Jack white fanatic, but I do think he represents the best in rock music at least today.

that's mighty thin gruel. I'd say you don't know of any great rock albums from the past twenty years, either. saying Jack White is the best rock now has to offer is like saying Conan O'Brien is the funniest talk show host on TBS. nothing against White personally at all. but rock is dead and has been since around '95. compared to the albums that came out in '67 alone, that list is anemic.

Yo, rock is NOT dead....just in hiding as is cyclical history.
Seriously, rock cannot be killed by vapid pop....like disco tried.
Just hold on and wait.
Three cents.

Couch, there are also underground bands, which I'm sure your know, the best music is often left behind. And why does it have to be us against them? Why can't we accept some music without comparing it to others?
I forgot to mention the black keys-rubber factory
And the war on drugs- lost in the dream
And couch, if u do nothing else, please listen to Willie Nile Streets of New York
If u don't think that's a great album head to toe,,,then I don't know.....

Mac it's not dead, it just hasn't changed much, the best of today is basicly really re-runs of the originals
But, I'll take well done rock music, that may hav been done before, than brand new crap...any day

Aw, Well, I do have a couple albums by Johnny Cash. He did some uptempo songs. I also have BILLBOARD Top Rock'n Roll Hits 1956. Probably not available anymore. Maybe Adele had a good Rock Album?????

Love Johnny cash, his voice alone makes him great, but he ain't exactly new
Adele I don't even really like as a pop artist, seems like she does the same song and technique for every song she does.

Arctic Monkees were one of the first bands to be discovered on my space. They actually changed the whole game, today very few artists sign with record companies. Love these tunes https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pK7egZaT3hshttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ePg1tbia9Bg

American Slang and the 59 Sound by The Gaslight Anthem were fantasic full length albums, check them out Amazingly you can hear both full albums by not moving in youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ybyowORfEchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7XJcQVXtuY
