https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjyurwEliHwI may have Posted this song before but here it is again. I was telling a friend that many times in my forth and fifth sets I played to empty chairs....THE SHOW MUST GO ON. I wrote some of these words and My Best Bud Phyllis wrote some. She has been a actor and also did shows to nobody. She wrote the Book and Lyrics to our Musical DOG SHOW THE MUSICAL about a Mutt who wins best in show at an International Dog Show. HAS ANYBODY OUT THERE EVER PLAYED TO NOBODY....? How did it feel and what were the circumstances? PLAYING TO AN EMPTY ROOM I AUDITIONED AND GOT A PART IN A PLAY PRACTICED MY LINES DAY AFTER DAY I LEARNED EVERY SONG AND I KNEW EVERY WORD PROJECTED MY VOICE SO THAT I COULD BE HEARD I GAVE IT MY ALL MY SOUL AND MY HEART PERFORMED IN THIS SHOW FOR THE PASSION OF ART I GAVE IT MY ALL AND PERFORMED FROM MY HEART FOR THE PASSION OF THE ART I ENTERED ON CUE THEN MOVED TO MY RIGHT I STOOD CENTER STAGE IN THE GLARE OF THE LIGHT I FINALLY AR RIVED IT WAS OPENING NIGHT LOOKED OUT FROM THE STAGE TO A SORROWFUL SIGHT (CHORUS) THE SEATS WERE ALL VACANT ONLY ONE PERSON THERE THE SHOW MUST GO ON DOESN'T ALWAYS SEEM FAIR BUT YOU'LL NOT GO UNNOTICED AND IT IS RIGHT TO ASSUME GOD WILL BE WATCHING THAT SMALL EMPTY ROOM (CHORUS)

Hey Barry, That's such a bitter sweet tune, so real too. And the pathos is well in check. Having "been there and done that" I think it captures the mood spot on. Will have your song in my back pocket should the need arise. Although, I'd be playing it to myself........ Good write. cheers, niteshift

Barry,
Liked this one a lot. Probably both a universal fear and experience of any performer. Well done!
Regards,
Deej
