I usually try to avoid multiple posts, letting one song slip down the page before posting another but...I just couldn't contain myself. This was a 3-way joint effort and all around great experience for me. Thanks to Rob George's beautiful lyric and Mike Zaneski's awesome musical and production sensibilities that turned my simple melody and chord progression into this lush masterpiece. All comments welcome and thanks for listening. https://soundcloud.com/rickib/far-from-my-one-true-loveFAR FROM MY ONE TRUE LOVE The sun is in the jagged hills The purple skyline starts to blur I need comfort from the fear Then in the twilight I see her And the half-moon above Is a quiet, peaceful dove But until it lands On these hostile sands I’ll be far from my one true love Far from my one true love There are times I look up and ask, Will the stars mourn me when I die? And if I mean the world to her Maybe I mean something to the sky And the half-moon above Is a quiet, peaceful dove But until it lands On these hostile sands I’ll be far from my one true love Far from my one true love Musical Bridge And the half-moon above Is a quiet, peaceful dove But until it lands On these hostile sands Yes the half-moon above Is a quiet, peaceful dove But until it lands On these hostile sands I’ll be far from my one true love Far from my one true love Far from my one true love Far from my one true love © Robert George BMI, Ricki E. Nice one Ricki and Mike. Great lyrics and swishy production. One thing is bugging me (isn't there always?) Is "hostile" pronounced differently over there? We pronounce it "host eye l" but it sounds more like "hostel" on this.

Very lush and textured. Great work on all the vocals.
It has a wonderful gentle flow.
Well done to all!

Hey Vic, Swishy? Thanks! I think? Yes, hostile can go either way. I don't know if it's an American/English thing or not. When I sang it that way, it felt more natural for me so I went with it, though I can't speak for Mike. Glad you liked it, although I can't take credit for those great lyrics. Ricki

Ricki,
You are on a roll! Nicely written, played, sung, all with great depth—beautifully done! Good luck with this one--it deserves a lot of listens!
All the best,
Deej

Hi Ricki
Your song sounds great. What a rich production! Great vocal harmony work through out. And the chorus has a strong hook.

I didn't want to taint this thread with a comment but I should probably thank everyone who replied and also mention how proud I am of the song and the small part I played in it.

Had me hooked from the first verse and as to my post in the General Forum this is what I am talking about collaborations and pooling togther to create something that maybe, just maybe could get "out" there. Enjoyed this one from top to bottom.

Wow - that's a beauty. Thanks for being the sponsor of my Sunday treat. No surprise really, given the talents involved. You'll probably think I'm crazy. But this sounds like it could have been a cut on "The Joshua Tree". U2 would have likely produced and sang it differently but it has that feel for me. I think this one has legs - if any of you are pushing..... Scott
