My son Leon recently sent me his latest EDM track that he had written and produced and asked me for lyrics and vocals. For this project I decided to team up with Tara-Lynn Sharrock from Australia and found out that she is not only a sensational vocalist but also a very talented lyricist. This is the first time we’ve actually written something together. As always, her vocal performance is awesome. If you ask me, the track sounds pretty fresh and radio-ready but the genre may not be your cup of tea. The song is called “Go Back Home”. Enjoy it. Feedback is always appreciated. https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13739399GO BACK HOME Verse 1 Here we are Reached that point again Where we don't know which way to go Verse 2 We realized Now it's time to end All the pain that hurt us so Pre-chorus 1 Both of us need to be strong Find a way to right the wrongs Of a past we cannot change or undo So let's leave it all behind And keep our love in mind To reclaim the one thing we both know is true Chorus We should go back home, go back home, go back home, go Together we belong We should go back home, go back home, go back home, oh Forever we belong Verse 3 Here we are Standing on the edge Hand in hand we face the sun Verse 4 We realized And now we understand This love of ours has only just begun Pre-chorus 2 Pouring fuel onto the fire Reigniting our desire All the chaos of the past is far away No more secrets we both keep No more games of hide and seek Seems the good times are finally here to stay Repeat chorus Music: Leon Baitinger Lyrics: Tara-Lynn Sharrock & Robert Baitinger Vocals & vocal arrangement: Tara-Lynn Sharrock All instruments: Leon Baitinger

Hi Rob, Leon and Tara-Lynn:
Fantastic production and Tara's vocal works well. So pleased to hear more of your work... and I suspect we will be hearing more from Ms. Sharrock and son, Leon... in even more of your work soon.
All the best, ----Dave

Rob,
This is very, very cool; slick production. Love your vocalist on this one—she slays it. And that chorus would kill in a dance club. And for me, normally, the lyrics to these types of songs are, well, lacking. But not this song—the lyrics are as strong as every other aspect of this production. Good luck with this one.
Kindest regards,
Deej

Hi Dave, hi Deej, thanks guys for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I'll pass it on to Tara-Lynn and Leon. I'm glad you liked the song. We don't really know what to do with this one. If any of you have some good ideas, please let us know.
All the best Robert

Very well done and put together, Robert. I think I'm too old for that much energy but regardless, it sounds like all of you know what you're doing and you're doing it well and that's what matters. It took until last year before I even knew what EDM stood for! Ricki

Hello again, Rob:
I suspect you are a bit disappointed at the lack of response to this particular "song-post." I don't believe it is anything personal. There have been plenty of "listens"... but not enough comments. Please don't take that as a reflection or lack of manners at JPF. It appears that most of the music websites along a broad front are experiencing a severe loss of members who know the "ins and outs" of site navigation, manners and decorum.
Most sites are filled with creative people just wishing someone would listen and comment on their song(s)... or, even better, be discovered by some big-name producer... and be whisked away to instant stardom. LOL! Depending on your musical objectives... if you are here for listens and comments... it pays to "return the favor" to the other artists and songwriters. Some folks live for comments and listens, while others (like you, my friend) don't really need that kind of attention. Either way, thanks for sharing your collective talent with us... and regretfully, I have no magic formulae for running our work "up the charts."
Music is enduring the pain and suffering of another change in technology and listening. It's called "Streaming" and only a few chosen artists and bands appear to be "plugged in."
Even my "PRO" - ASCAP, has jumped on that "bandwagon" and I resent it very much.
All the best, ----Dave

Hi Dave, I honestly didn’t expect anybody here to respond because EDM is not really a favorite genre of the people who hang out here.
Every now and then I do comment other people’s work but since I’m not a country expert I sometimes find it hard to evaluate a recording properly. I’ll try to contribute more in the future. I just have fun writing and recording songs and then sharing my stuff with other talented writers to see how they react and hear what needs to be improved.
My son Leon recently teamed up with one of those “plugged in” people and is currently successfully utilizing Spotify to generate income. I have no idea how he does it but his songs are getting some 40.000 streams per week. I know they don’t pay much per play but with that number of plays things start to get interesting.
All the best Robert
