https://www.reverbnation.com/banzaiwag/song/29587718-ele-extinction-level-eventE.L.E. Written by: Robert Malin with "the differenz" Produced @ Terrier Studios Tuscon, Arizona Bass guitar, Acoustic guitar, One voice w/ Childrens choir Some songs take weeks to write and produce. This took several hours and was never finished. It is not a BanzaiWag piece, bit still has something important to say about the way we think, and the way we refuse to think! It contains congas and bongos in place of drums and we hope people will seriously consider the message... malin E.L.E. Extinction Level Event The place our grandchildren...ultimately sent The sky, the sea, you gotta be kidding me Where is the balance if there is no challenge... From the smallest bird in a Florida landscape To the biggest swimming mammal in history And that strange tint...in the breathable air People say they don't know, people say they don't care... We are taking things that don't belong to us From the tusks the fins the gils the pelts And when was the last time water was bottled Or children were spanked or (ultimately) coddled Extinction Level Event The place our grandchildren...ultimately sent The sky, The sea, you gotta be kidding me Where is the balance if there is no challenge... Over the years...we've shed some tears Loss of life that could...have been avoided Too late today we know...tears are not enough As the planet crumbles, lawmakers mumble, volcanos rumble What is the matter when our pockets get fatter And so do our bodies and heads and egos to dread And the mercury that our fish are guzzling We are muscling up to throw a punch at mother Earth ...

It seems so simple...be good stewards of mother earth - whether from a religious perspective, a philosophical perspective or just a survival instinct.
Yet transient events seem to always dominate and supersede thoughts of what we will leave children and grandchildren.
We enjoyed the song and feel that it sounds "finished" (if they ever are) and the percussion worked well.
Thanks for sharing!

Robert,
Enjoyed that. A good write. And a nice production. Sounds like something Paul Simon might do (especially the chorus).
Well done.
