XTC is an all time favorite band so, by that inclusion alone, you have my ear and my interest.
I do know Freedy Johnston (in fact, I opened up for him one time, many years ago) and I like him.
Level 42 I remember from my high school years. Great bass player. Fun band.
Thomas Dolby -- off course I know the hits!
And Seal, too.

The other ones... I will check out. I know a couple of the names, but most of the rest not at all.

Here are some for you, that you may have missed:

1. The Apples In Stereo - Tone Soul Evolution
2. Cate Le Bon - Cyrk
3. The Chamber Strings - A Month of Sundays
4. The Exploding Hearts - Guitar Romantic
5. Shrimp Boat - Duende
6. Grant Hart - Good News for Modern Man
7. Jenny Lewis - Acid Tongue
8. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - Talk Tight
9. Frederick Knight - I've Been Lonely For So Long
10. The Webb Brothers - Maroon

Let me know if you've heard any of these and if you hear any of them, let me know.

And after listening to The Producers, I think you would really dig this one too:

The Bongos - Drums Along the Hudson

Well, Yes,
There is a lot of good music from the past that is now released on CD, CD Collections for people to aqquire. Some time ago we received a Catalog from MUSIC REWIND that has a lot of Pop Rock collections I remember hearing from the 50's. I now have some of them in my collection. Lots of great music from yesterday.

I also discovered a few great bands that I didn't know before from some multi-band compilations and box sets.
The Stiff Records Box has a TON of amazing stuff on there. Just enough from bands that you already know and love (Elvis Costello, Devo, Nick Lowe, etc.) to pull you in. But then so much more from a bunch of other bands that became favorites (Tenpole Tudor, Wreckless Eric, and more).
