Nelson,
What great lyrics, as there is so much truth to these words--I do believe most womanizers are lonely souls. I learned that lesson myself somewhat as a young man not settling down as early as I should have thinking the "grass was always a little greener on the other side of the fence"--fortunately for me, I learned to keep my shoes on!
Great song all around, no nits from me--I always enjoy your groove and style--which always pulls me in! At first I thought the chorus end line should be "just like me," but after another look, it would be too repetitive and like the verse's ending, so I changed my comment on that aspect.
As always with your music, I really enjoyed my listen!

Top notch lyrics, Nelson and you perform it great, too. "But ended up with the same ole 3, loneliness, a stranger and me". The only slight nit for me was the tacet at the end of verse 1 that almost seems like something went wrong. Great stuff, though. Vic

Every now and then we are given the opportunity to hear a really good performance here at JPF. Nelson, you've hit a ninth inning, bases loaded homer with this one. The title is a magnet and the listener is "caught" with the first couple of lines. Love those lyrics and that honest vocal you do so well.
Thanks for sharing and for all your creativity. Enjoyed so much. ----Dave

Another winner, Mr. Nelson. Glad you brought it around again. Still enjoying your sound and style.
A part of me thinks "loneliness, a stranger and me" would be a more interesting title and to me is more of what the song is about but that's just my opinion. I love what you do.

Excellent.
A well-written song. An engaging performance. I really like your voice. It's the kind you could listen to all day and never tire of hearing.
This is really good.

Vic Thx Vic I'm listening for the tacet you mentioned at the end of verse 1 but I'm not sure what I'm listening for. By tacet do you mean the sound dropping out or something in the mix. What I was going for at the end the verses was that Latin type vibe where the band stops abruptly, the hand percussion comes in alone then the band kicks back in for the chorus. Could that be it?

I've heard this before - love it. Great lyric and vibe. Mix sounded really good in my buds with the lead and strum panned opposite. Vocal is superb. Nice work, Nelson. Scott

Yeah, this one seems to live in a fixed period of time, but still seems timeless.
Like that feel, great vocal.

Nelson,
What an impressive tune—it’s got soul. Great rhythm guitar work. Terrific lyrics, heartfelt vocal, harmonies. Loved it from start to finish. Good luck with this one—it deserves to be heard by a lot of ears.
Best regards,
Deej

Floyd said it all. I too can listen to your vocal all day long. It is so easy going and laid back. Though you sound nothing like James Taylor, I get the same feeling when I listen to him. There is never a single stretch on the vocal. Everything flows out with such ease. What a line. .. "loneliness, a stranger and me." Like Ricki, I think this should be the title as well.
I wonder how this would sound with just you on the guitar strumming or on the piano playing with no other instruments. I think it would be killer. For me, some of the background guitar ring distracted from your amazing voice. Another great great write.

Ricki Thanks a bunch Ricki. I always feel fortunate to have multiple possibilities for titles in a song. We’ll see where it goes.

Beautiful and meaningful Lyrics...as is your style Nelson. I liked the change up into the Chorus...very cool....rush of emotion. the refrain...lonliness, strangers, and me was a very nice touch also.
Nice work. Seems to be commercial to me...maybe with an album cover for "running barefoot in the street"...I can see it!

Dave As always, I appreciate your support and insight. I removed the guitar ringing from the verses all together. It was really a space holder until something else came to mind...... but nothing ever did.

hi Nelson, I haven't heard/seen any of yours before. You were coming on here as I was taking a hiatus. Listening to this was a joy. You sound a bit like Jim Croce and I have everything he's ever done.
