https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13719773What if Hank never went Honky Tonkin ? If no shoes, no shirt, was a problem Would George the Cowboy ride away Would Blue Eyes be Cryin' in the Rain What if Elvis wasn’t all shook up? Or the Beatles never sang about love Would there be a yellow Submarine Or Maybe Fancy wasn't her name ~C What if the music didn’t die Would we have heard of Don McLean What if the music didn’t die Would Buddy lead the Hit Parade What if the music didn’t die If Fogerty didn’t write swamp music Proud Mary wouldn’t be Tina’s huge hit If James Brown had no brand new bag Would we have heard of Sally’s Mustang What if Huey didn’t want a new drug? If Jeremiah was a girl frog? Or Jimmy didn’t drink Margaritas Maybe Jessi Colter was Lisa? What if the music didn’t die Would we have heard of Don McLean What if the music didn’t die Would Buddy lead the Hit Parade What if the music didn’t die What if the train's not comin' And Jagger got some satisfaction What if the music didn’t die Would we have heard of Don McLean What if the music didn’t die Would Buddy lead the Hit Parade Would The Bopper be big today What if the music didn’t die

A clever and entertaining write. The first time I was drawn to read the complete lyrics before pushing play.
Enjoyed my listen

That was a very cool trip down music memory lane.
Any one of those "ifs" would have changed a lot of music memories for large numbers of folks.
Great idea for the write.
Enjoyed it!

Neil,
You know I liked these lyrics reading them in the L3 Forum, and I think you've made some good adjustments in the Chorus to bring things together. Some really good lines here, accompanied by an inviting rhythm. Liked what you did there on the "And Jagger got some satisfaction" line. Nice.
Best regards,
Deej
