A co-write with Floyd Jane.Smooth harmony vocals by Janice Merritt. Thanks so much,Floyd and Janice. https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13716181Working On My Broken Heart Maybe some nails and a hammer Or paperclips and glue I'm trying my best to remember But i aint got a clue Need to think this through so i can make a start Gotta get busy Working on my broken heart I might try a little whiskey Though it hasn't worked before Or something else just as risky Like that blonde standing by the door Just give me some time to figure out all these parts I'll think of something Working on my broken heart Working on my broken heart Trying to find that spark How do you gather Something so shattered Like some puzzle in the dark I'm doing my best Working on my broken heart Might be a piece missing here or there But i think i can make it work It needs to feel like somebody cares To find its way out of this hurt Might have a chance if i can catch this thing off guard At least it's a plan Working on my broken heart Working on my broken heart Trying to find that spark How do you gather Something so shattered Like some puzzle in the dark Doing my best Working on my broken heart Doing my best, working on my broken heart

Michael,
Loved the lyrics when I read them on the L3 forum, but the tune, music, melody, production—everything just brings this to another level. The harmonies are really effective, adding depth and heart. Great guitar work; really pulls you in. Cool bridge.
Really, this is just excellent. Great job to you, Floyd, and everyone involved. Beautiful.
Good luck with it!
Kindest regards,
Deej

wow Mike, Janice, Floyd I just really like this exceptional write, and then Floyd/Janice sings this, can`t hardly get any better than this work. what a treat. Vincent Vincent - Thanks for the nice comments. We all appreciate it.... Very nice country ballad.
The acoustic guitar work is stellar. The vocals work really well, and the harmonies are a nice touch. Solid production.
Nicely done!
Peace, TC TC - thanks for having a listen. The acoustic guitars are tracks generated in BIAB (as are 95% of all my tracks). The production and mix are, of course, dependent on the user and how well they use their tools (as is always the case) - so thanks for mentioning the production... (mixed in Studio One Professional).

Hey wait a minute now, you been workin on this one haven't you.....lol
Yeah, I remember the first draft, I think you tightened it up a lot.
Nice work all the way around.
Floyd, you have a very believable voice, hope u ain't full of s..... Lol
Enjoyed my listen.
fd - I was hoping you might drop in for a listen, since you had commented on Mike's original lyric. I did the re-write of the lyric - Mike is always really good about letting me "run with it" - and I had already changed all the things that you noted - for all the reasons that you stated (and told Mike then that you had hit on the salient points - good read...). Mike's original had "good bones" - a really good place to start for a co-write... Whether I'm full of it is, of course debatable...

Floyd, that's great man. Mike had the concept, you added some fine tuning to it and the finish was excellent.
Hopefully, it leads to more cowrites between u two Mike is an excellent writer (lyrist). We have done 11 or 12 co-writes (enough for an album!). All started as a complete lyric by Mike. I make changes as I see fit (Mike is great about that). That ends up being varying degrees with each lyric. Some are changed only slightly. This is one of the more "dramatic changes" - and it is still "a good amount of Mike". I think it's a great partnership...

Michael, Floyd and Janice- Great tune here. Title, hook and story-telling: all well-crafted. All vocals, stellar. I listened 2-3 times. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing. We appreciate that, ej... This is great. Should be on an album somewhere. Wouldn't that be nice?!!.... Thanks, Owen...

this is a nice song well written and recorded and performed nice
Anthony Anthony - we appreciate that... Sounds just as you would expect pros at work, to sound.
Mike never ceases to amaze with me and Floyd and Janice really brought it home. The pain or maybe just the over all vibe brought Kenny Rogers - "Lucille". to my mind.
Outstanding work folks
Nelson - thanks for that....

Shows how differently a song can be interpreted. When I saw the lyric a week or so ago I imagined a rocker, then Floyd comes up with a sweet ballad. Well done both.
Vic Thanks for having a listen, Vic... I agree with all the positive comments above. Very nice. We appreciate that, Bob... It just doesn’t get much better tan Micael’s Lyric and a Floyd and Janice vocal, Simply beautiful in all respects. Nothing more needs said.
Dave Thanks for dropping by, Dave....
