Another Time Another Day
Anthony Thaxton ©March 14, 2018
https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13705187

I donít hear you anymore your words are empty and void
everything you used to say to me then donít leave me upset and annoyed
It used to be I built my world around every charming line you had to say
But that was another place another time another day

I donít see you anymore your memories are cloudy and blurred
everything I thought I seen in you then now seem so foolish and absurd
I was blinded by your innocent smile and the beautifully romantic games youíd play
But that was another place another time another day

Its funny how the same old sun can rise
Bring a brand-new day
And suddenly make everything thatís broken
Feel ok its ok

I donít need you anymore your love is distant and cold
Everything I thought I felt for you then now only seams so useless and old
there was a time I thought youíd always be here and I knew that you would always stay
But that was another place another time another day

Anthony,

Really like the lyrics here and the melody--got into the song the more and more I listened. I'm the last person to comment on production type things--there are others on this board that can provide more insight in that regard--but there's some tightening that can be done to make this more polished, to my novice ear at least. But, boy, this is great write and inviting tune; something to be proud of. Enjoyed my listen a lot.

All the best,

Deej

Hi Anthony:

This seems like one of those songs that works well in several genres... as well as "Country." That, my friend... is a real good thing. Recording and vocal technique can be difficult to learn and eventually master. I don't know your "set-up" or gear involved but I enjoyed my listen. My advice is to do as much research about recording and vocals "on-line" if you don't have a personal "guru" you can depend upon. I don't know your musical objectives but there are alternatives in just about any direction for you to choose from.

I began my less than illustrious career as a lyricist. Even now, my objective is to find better artists to do "covers" of my catalogue. Performing is not something I would care to pursue. During my "other life" I had to travel extensively and living out of a suitcase is less than glamorous to me... LOL!

Best of luck with your music... ----Dave

Hi Lyricwriter.
You have all the bones here. Maybe a few too many words and too many gaps, maybe not. Just needs tidying up.

Vic

It's never too late? Yes it is, so do it now.

If, given time, a monkey can write the complete works of Shakespeare maybe there's hope for me.

I was thinking you had too many words in lines 2 and 3 of each verse. Enjoyable listen that needs a bit more polish.
Best of luck!

Hey Anthony,

I liked your song. I would have wished your vocal was a little more up front in the mix but you did included the lyric. In your B section, I liked how you had that unexpected chord over the words "Bring a brand new day"...seemed quite appropriate.

I often heard persons said a good song is a good song and I am saying it right now, This is a good song. It has its place in its own rights.

Who could not like this song. Even if you didn't like it from the beginning this is the type of song make you like the song. ( Meaning it is the song that make you like the song) I hope you do understand what I've said?

This song don't need any introduction, explaining or nothing but having an audience to listen

I would proudly recommend.

Irwin

We're suckers for heartfelt writes and vocals (with a hefty dose of soul).

You delivered!

And we much enjoyed it.

Hey Anthony,

Just bring the vocals a little more up front. You have a nice melody going on. I'd experiment with finding another word than "funny," which is a "trite" expression we all use, but its not really funny of course, so look for a realistic expression that really feels more dramatically on point.......maybe something about "waking up" to a bran new day? Of course, JMO.

Anthony, I like the melody and playing. Your lyrics are visual and conversational. I think you have room to expand the melodic range of chorus and make stand out a little more. I'd look at your lyrics a little to simply and keep them even more conversational and honest Lots of possibilities here. Thanks for sharing.
