I really think we nailed it. I haven't posted in a while but always got great feedback. Would love some feedback on this song, negative or positive. Just help me get better!!! Thanks in advance for anyone who took the time! Link below!
Liked the live instruments! (Was that Crazy Horse backing?) It's unfortunate the vocal was indistinct at times. Had a N.Young/Delaney and Bonnie feel for me. I would have liked to hear a break with faster tempo like Neil did in "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" ("I was only thinkin'....")
Welcome home. I liked what I could hear "music wise" but with these "tinny" PC speakers... the vocal was drowned out by the music. Not knowing what recording set-up you are using, I can't point you in a specific direction... but a good music editor would allow you to pull up the volume on the vocal or quiet down the instruments a tad.
It is always helpful to post your lyric so we can follow along and understand the message of the song. That's a pretty deep subject you picked... LOL! Do I need to be hiring a contractor for a bomb-shelter?
Thanks for sharing and keep grinding away at this one. It has potential. ----Dave
I like the loose live feeling of the instruments and the harmonica breaks put me in mind of Neil Young. Unfortunately, I can hardly make out a word of the vocals, so I can't comment on the lyrics. Dave is right that you need to pull up the vocals a bit and also find a way of making them clearer. I think it would be worth it because this has a really good vibe about it. It's very repetitive but somehow I didn't get tired of it at all - not sure how you pulled that off
I agree with most of what has been said, the vocals need to be clearer but it's a great start. Lyrics are best posted under the link Best of luck with it Travis

Just to explain, so this was all recorded in one take with an Iphone. That is a big reason for the sound problems. We have invested in an expensive recording mechanism and will be recording differently.
All of your comments were so helpful and I appreciate the time!!!
Good stuff, Steve...I use a Reaper DAW and a Focusrite 2i2 audio interface with a Novation Launchkey 49...and all with Sennheisser mixing headphones and a set of JBL 8 inch studio monitors. We have been working on it for a little over a year and it is not easy! Take your time and make progress. That's all you can do. Have a listen to my Jazz Alternative Vampire Wag and our song Banzai. Both are still on the first page. And God bless your efforts...
