https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW6qy1l1DCEI always wanted to learn to play the Sax as it is such a soulful instrument. I wrote these words with Chet A Blum SAXOPHONE THERE WAS THIS DISHEVELED GUY THAT I'D PASS ON THE BY AND BY HE WAS OUT IN THE OPEN WITHOUT A PLACE TO HIDE I KNEW THERE WAS MORE TO HIM AND SO ON A WHIM I ASKED IF HE COULD PLAY THAT SAX BY HIS SIDE HE NEVER UTTERED A SINGLE WORD HE PLAYED THAT SAX LIKE I'D NEVER HEARD I STOOD AND WATCHED STARTLED BY HIS SOUND WHEN HE WAS DONE HE JUST LOOKED AT ME I TOOK OUT NEW CRISP TWENTY I BENT DOWN...PUT IT IN THE BOX ON THE GROUND SAXOPHONE...SAXOPHONE SUCH A GORGEOUS SOUND FLOWS FROM THE LIPS OF THIS MAN I FOUND SAXOPHONE...SAXOPHONE FEELINGS IT EMOTES FILLS HEARTS AND MIND WITH BEAUTIFUL NOTES CHRISTMAS EVE... WAS THE VERY NEXT NIGHT SOMETHING DEEP INSIDE... FELT SO RIGHT SO I ASKED HIM IF HE'D LIKE LIKE TO COME HOME WITH ME HAVE A BED, A HOT MEAL... A BATH SHARE TALES.... AND HAVE A LAUGH HE COULD TELL ME HOW HIS LIFE HAD COME TO BE (REPEAT CHORUS) TOLD ME...YEARS AGO WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER HE HAD THIS BURNING HUNGER TO JUST PLAY HIS SAX AND RAISE A SMILE OR TWO AND THOUGH LIFE HAS TAKEN IT'S TOLL THE DESIRE STILL FILLS HIS SOUL HE SAID THAT I'M DOING WHAT I WAS BORN TO DO

Barry (and Chet):
This is a gem. Thanks for posting the lyric and for sharing this one with us. We've all seen them here and there... a street corner, the subway, a crowded street full of storefronts. One of your best. Enjoyed. I always thought "that must be the most difficult instrument in the world to play... with all those valves and a reed mouthpiece." For what it's worth, your song made me smile.

Music is good. The lyrics are especially poppy and bland however.

Well if your goal is to write a hit(I.E. make money) then you are on the right track.
If your goal is to be an authentic songwriter that will respected and last, better make a U-turn.
It sickens my stomach when I hear/read supposed songwriters attempting to make hits. Corporate mindsets on a small scale. Who needs more of that rubbish in todays world?
But now that I know your motivations I'll be sure to pass up listening to your tunes anymore.
Best of luck making a hit song!

99% of my songs are much more serious and most of my lyrics are top notch...SO mostly I write songs that touch my heart and others.....BUT it would be nice to get a cover once in awhile. I'm 72 and never even got close. You sound a bit nasty man so lighten up.

Not nasty your music is awesome. Turn that 99% into 100% and you got yourself a new subscriber. Your 72 and you have lived a life producing awesome music. You win period. The fact that you never had a hit is a compliment to your music. If you were to achieve a hit in todays world you should be ashamed.
So congratulations. Just get rid of this shitty song and stick to ones like your Lebron James song, which I have listend to ten times.
