BanzaiWag Marc Vernon and Robert Malin Home Studio Oakdale, Ca Old School is about the experience of growing old in our family. My brother and I love this song, even though the recording is way less than perfect. An old contemporary once told me that if it makes you cry...you have a hit on your hands. There is this song and one other to follow and then we will stop for a while. Also, Marc will come in and do some listening as well. Thanks for your interest... Old School 2017-11-25 Many a time... We step back and wander...and Many good cells in our brain...but Ask me if we want to go back and squander The money, the girls and the pain... It's like taking a shower in the rain... So much more time... And a little bit older...and Bouncing the "G's" on your knee... With skeletons acting a little bit bolder... And hundreds of places to see... And...dozens of whereabouts that you need to be Old School...is my University now Old School...we know everything and nothing...and Old School...there's no going back anymore Mamma is ninety And Pappa's in chambers...and There is a life on her face. Stronger than me, and deeper dimension And wiser than I'll ever be... Family..."American"... anchored like God is to she... Old School...is my University now Old School...we know everything and nothing...and Old School...there's no going back anymore... Many a time... We step back and wander...and Many good cells in our brain...but Ask me if we want to go back and squander The money, the girls and the pain... It's like taking a shower in the rai...ain... Old School...is my University now Old School...we know everything and nothing... Old School...there's no going BACK!... Old School...is my University now Old School...we know everything and nothing...and Old School...there's no going back anymore... https://www.reverbnation.com/banzaiwag/song/29303774-old-school

Good song with a James Taylor vibe to it. Travis

I really enjoyed the sentiment of the song. There really is a "James Taylor" vibe. The "mix" could use some attention but I believe the song has a great deal of potential. The line, "No going back anymore..." resonates with the listener. Best of luck with it and thanks for sharing. ----Dave

I like the music but the content of the words makes it very hard to listen. A friend I shared with had similar sentiments.

By music I also mean the melody of singing. Literally just the content of the words need an uplift...IMO.

Thanks, Dave.
I was sitting in the sparse sunlight sipping coffee and thinking about something that happened: I thought...that's "Old School"...Oh my God! That's an entire song!! And went dashing for my guitar. Old School is MY University now!! Yah...Thanks again...

Thanks for listening...
This song resonates with seniors. They know EXACTLY and Precisely that it is for them. The "G's" and the skeletons...The "whereabouts" and the no going back...
thanks again, malin

Great to hear from you! Interestingly we also recently returned with Maria Blue after an 18 month absence. We’re old school swimming, sometimes blindly, in a new school world...yet curious enough to explore some of the new. This is a tremendous lyric for so many, we would suspect, baby boomers. We’d start quoting lines but there’s no need — the entire lyric is very strong. We equally enjoyed the obviously heartfelt vocals. There’s a Graham Nash feel and Janice says there is, of all things , a Goose Creek Symphony song that she felt while listening. Brotherhood filled with soul. How cool! Kudos J&B

J & B...
We just went through a major musical upheaval , including finally abandoning analogue recording and learning Digital Audio Workstation recording. WOW! What a complicated process that is. I want you guys to be the first to know we are about to drop another song in here entitled "Challenger Deep"...about the mystical Mariana Trench! Thank you SO MUCH for your spectacular music and your support of ours!!
