My original question was, is this too poetic to be a song?
Song - The River Of Gold. Version 2.
Verse #1 We should really know, what our goals are in life, (11) Don’t blame God for our own confusion and strife. (11) Kiss the ring of remembrance once again, (11) Then you’ll know the rules of life’s endless game.(10)
Chorus. Be like the river of life as it flows to the sea, Don’t let your life be controlled by your own misery. Look in your heart for the good memories of old, Let love be your guide on the river of gold.
Verse #2 The face in the mirror, it’s one from the past, (11) Tomorrow you won’t care, you know it won’t last. (11) Know where you’re going, as you flow on your way, (11) Then you will become the river each day. (10)
Chorus Be like the river of life as it flows to the sea, Don’t let your life be controlled by your own misery. Look in your heart for the good memories of old, Let love be your guide on the river of gold.
Bridge. You’ll know when you’ve arrived, at your goal, The crowds will be cheering, Then you’ll know, that nothing in life, is worth fearing.
Instrumental.
Chorus Be like the river of life as it flows to the sea, Don’t let your life be controlled by your own misery. Look in your heart for the good memories of old, Let love be your guide on the river of gold.

Be like the river of life as it flows to the sea, Don’t let your life be controlled by your own misery.
The second line does really support the first.
Also there is not much support for the river of "gold"
Be like the river of life as it flows to the sea, Power past rock bottoms of daily misery Your heart holds a beacon for you to find Let love be your guide on the river of life
New title River Of life...
Keep or Sweep
rewrite verses to support the hook, even if you keep River of Gold
