This just came from nowhere last Friday on a cold but sunny afternoon. No story, just a song. Comments welcome. This just came from nowhere last Friday on a cold but sunny afternoon. That sudden creative burst can be so intoxicating! I love the dreamy, far away feeling of this song. Just relax and drift away. You did well on the ending. A proper one rather than just a fade out. Enjoyed it a lot!

Impressive write and performance, Vic:
You may have written a song for the ages... and the backing enhances the work significantly. For the record, I disagree with you a bit... and with the best of intentions. There is a story-line here and it resonates with so many of your potential listeners as well as your band of followers here at JPF.. Great work and best wishes for success... (meaning money to sustain your excellent work.)

Good song Vic i hadn't read the lyric and was waiting for the bridge. The song works well though. A nice instrumental and a great feel to it. Nice work for a three day turn around John

Thanks, RainyDayMan. I may have been a little intoxicated later. More of a surprise though at the time. It seemed too easy.
I like faded endings if they suit the song, like laying down the idea that the theme rides on.

Haha! Thank you Dave.
When I looked at your comment I thought you said, "You may not have written a song for ages". I'll have to get some decent glasses.
As for monetary success, well not for a long while but it's good to produce the type of song I can no longer buy as most of those have gone. Maybe if I live another 100 years I may make a few quid out of it.

We were hooked from the get go. "Ride Hard. Ride strong" is our mountain biking mantra! It works so well with so many aspects of life.
There's a lot to like here...and we like it all.
Kudos!

Thank you Travis. Well, the bridge in this, would be the short instrumental that links the two last choruses by a change from the chorus chords. A lyrical bridge could go there I suppose, instead.

Hey Vic, pretty good for a song that you say has no story. Actually, there is a good story...I hear it as a comparison of humans with dreams compared to horses that run...you can't stop either of them...great metaphorical lyric.

Hi Germain. Thank you for the appreciation and you are right. Well, I suppose it is a kind of short story. When I say a story I mean the type that relates a series of events on a timeline e.g:
"I was born in West Virginia in a run down kind of shack My daddy worked his butt off to put clothes upon my back I worked my way through college and I took to the big time but wound up dealing cocaine somewhere further down the line" ... etc. etc. :-)
Thanks again, Vic

Your Welcome Vic. Yes, I hear what you're saying about story songs. Well, how about this...it's the shortest story song I ever heard lol.

Nice atmosphere you created in this track, really like the chorus and harmonies, it's special that your muse is still whispering in your ear.

Hi Marc. Can't claim credit for the lead guitarist. Just the editing. Thanks anyway, though.
