McCrea OWEN AND SASSOON
Intro War poets rose from their graves Picked up their pens again Some rolled over, couldn't rest As more battles waged from east to west v One hundred years have now gone countless battles lost and won What's been learned through it all? Only there'll be more for those that fall?
c McCrea, Owen and Sassoon saw fields littered with the dead Graves row by row without a name they could only shake their heads V All they could see was nothing changed futile to write the same again Perhaps they'll return once more when there's finally an end to war?
Outro They went back from where they came to rest in peace Still the message in their words remain Ch
------------------------------------------------------ McCrea, OWEN AND SASSOON Intro War poets rose from their graves Picked up their pens once again Some turned over, couldn't rest As battles waged from east to west v One hundred years have now gone countless battles lost and won What's been learned through it all? Only life"s expendable, from the call
c McCrea, Owen and Sassoon the same thoughts in their heads spat out lines with a dragons breath over fields of the dying and the dead
b They wrote their poems once again but only said the same Gravestones row by row some without a name v Men in black with tailored suits their bombs failed, lace up your boots Over by Christmas, but war raged Owen shook his head went back to his grave
c Dylan, Owen and Sassoon the same thoughts in their heads That spat out lines with a dragons breath over the fields of the dying and the dead

Travis,
This one has some nice lines and imagery, but to be honest I feel like I'm missing something here. I've read it a few times and it hasn't quite clicked for me--wondering if the names have a historical significance of which I am unaware. Regardless, you'll work this one through as you always do, and end up with a gem.
Kindest regards,
Deej

I liked the sentiment. These two lines are very good: War poets rose from their graves Picked up their pens again I thought you might carry on with the focus on the poets work. War poets rose from their graves Picked up their pens again Every death needs a line etc
Best of luck! -Mike

Hi Travis. There are a few nice lines here. Seems more a poem than a song. That's ok though.
