Mr. Nelson,
A beautiful write. A beautiful performance!
"Never known as a real religious man… Never prone to chasing footsteps in the sand… A real straight shooter so you know where I stand… I trust what I see and can touch with my hands…"
SO well done. Powerful.

Hi Nelson,
What a beautiful song. I love the bridge. Very very moving song you have made. I cannot find a thing wrong with it, the melody and vocals are a perfect match for the lyrics. Awesome job. Keep up the great work, Roger

"but just as I’m falling apart My soul seems to shiver, then I hear you whisper, I’ll be your light through the dark"
floyd used the word powerful...yes! I was about to use the "strong" before I read his comments. Powerful in that it has the power to draw you in immediately and keep you engaged until the last note and leave you wanting another listen.
The backing tracks well reinforce the soulful vocal and lyric.
Kudos!!

This is beautifully written and arranged. The vocal performance is fantastic. I love the way you go up in register on the second chorus - that's a very nice touch. The line "chasing footsteps in the sand" was a pretty cool reference (I think) to the Footprints In The Sand poem - great way to reinforce the line before.
..ant Thank you for stopping by, lending an ear and for the kind words. Not being a singer, that small change in register is about as dynamic as it gets for me vocally… I’m thrilled you caught it. As for the "chasing footsteps in the sand" line in the bridge, I was actually thinking of the fragile nature of the human condition. How we seem to be in a perpetual search of maleficence to praise and pray to or to blame and rail against. Almost like chasing ghosts…… or fading footsteps.

Hey, Nelson...
I really appreciated the dark nature of the tune. Your vocal was perfectly fitting and no...you have not lost your mojo. Keep going. Don't give up. Add to the creativity every day and you'll be fine...!
