Just a wonder this crazy morning in my life.
What song was the most meaningful song that helped shape your future? Has any Song made you see the world and your life in a different light? Do we need more visionaries of all Artists in the world to help show the way? Just a crazy thought this morning. How important is Great Art in Societies? I believe great Art touches the Heart and the Soul like nothing else. SO we should always be mindful of the Talent that God has given us and use it WELL....B

Pete Townshend once said that music can not change the world, it might change how you feel about the world.

Many of his songs move me beyond belief, but they didn't change me as a person, they just make you feel soomething .

I'm sure murderers and world dictators could enjoy a good Peter Paul and Mary song just as much as anyone else.

I'm with Pete

I'll probably never know... from the creative side. from the listening side... Heck Yes! Rachmaninoff's work can move me... Don Williams could surround me with noble thoughts... B.B. King could bring me to Earth and then launch me into the Heavens in a single song. My personal favorites are "The Old Standards" which is somewhat a reflection of the era in which I matured from childhood, then the terrible teens... and finally adulthood. ----Dave

It takes the right historical moment and the right song.

For me, it was Dylan's "Blowin' In The Wind" and "Times, they are a changin'"

And The Beatle's "Imagine"

OHIO after Kent State is a killer for me. Imagine is a case where a great song with a simple piano can be one of the greatest songs ever written in my opinion..

I don't believe any one song can change the world but it can change many peoples view of the world, which can help change the world. Some songs can change people in how they look at their lives, make them question how they live and maybe adjust their thinking. God uses music, Gospel and secular, to speak to people in their minds and hearts. Music is a very powerful thing and can be used for good or evil.

I believe Music and Song is the most Powerful Entity on the Planet. I know people get tired of my spiritual stuff but Great Art is a gift of the Angels to just a few. It's up to us to decide to use it and develop it. Dreams and Imagination are also a gift of the Angels and we should never make light of it. Great Art move us from a Black & White Re Run World to bright and amazing colors...B

Songs can create awareness, but only people can make change. And with too many opposing views, like in this thread for example, it's hard for anybody to do

The Las Vegas shootings were done AT A CONCERT!

"Music changes the way you live, in the world. It changes the way you see it. But it doesn't change the world itself. If you want to change the world, you have to get out there and change it. Music is not going to change it"
Pete Townshend
