Hey folks,

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been doing a series of videos on FACEBOOK and am developing my own YOU TUBE channel to present things that I personally do in writing, and performing, that might be of assistance to some of you trying to add to your musical arsenal.

At this point there are about 12 of the videos that cover, songwriting, guitar playing, networking, Not just in Nashville but also in your home areas. You might want to drop by and see if I have something that might help you out. Feel free to contact me if you need help.

What a great idea, Marc. smile

I was keen to see/listen to a couple of your videos, but for some reason I'm not getting any sound.

Hi Marc:

Looks like you've had another "epiphany" and the link works... but I'm not a member of Facebook and don't really care to join... at least not now. Is there a method to bypass all that stuff in order to see your videos? If not, at least I tried. Best of luck with this. I hope it brings you real success and provides much needed assistance to budding song-writers.

----Dave

Hi Marc, I hijacked my husband's facebook account to watch a couple of your videos. Very cool...Dani is a formidable talent...what a voice. I hope to catch a few more in the near future. Thanks for sharing what you do.

Marc,

Definitely let me know when you put your Youtube channel up. I am also working on a YouTube channel so hopefully we can help each other out. YouTube has made a lot of negative changes of late, but it's still the only game in town, though Amazon is reportedly going to go head to head with YouTube which might spell a quick demise for Youtube since they're really struggling. Amazon can just run ads from their commerce partners giving them a HUGE advantage plus Amazon can monetize things much better than YouTube can I bet.

Hey Brian,

I'll surely do that. Am going to be talking about you on an upcoming post. What I am doing is basically mentioning things that have helped me over the years, organizations I think people should check out, etc. I have done it in posts and articles I've written, and now am just adding some video.

I held off doing this for a long time simply because I get bored with these hundreds and thousands of OTHER people doing similar things on their songs on FACEBOOK and YOU TUBE over the years. i never liked the look of those homemade things and didn't want to do them myself. But like most things in my life, I started doing them a couple weeks ago, because someone I had worked with years before asked me to demonstrate some guitar techniques I use. From there, I got a dozen or more people asking me about songs I had written, techniques I was doing, etc.

So that is where it all came from. I'm mentioning it to people on forums I've been around for a while because some of it are things I have talked about, now I demonstrate what I am talking about. At this point, I just keep it rather small and direct to friends, etc.

I get a lot of interesting requests and I find a lot of them turn into interesting teaching lessons. Yesterday I had two women from different eras of my life request the same song, something I did on my first Nashville recording project 30 years ago. When I went through, re-typed the lyrics from memory (because I don't have an actual recording of it)
I found out the song's lyrics were now VERY POLITICALLY INCORRECT. I would never do that type of song today. And so the lesson was that the culture will change and sometimes songs we thought were great back in that day, no longer fit. So I got my own lesson on it.
And most of all it proves that you should always MOVE ON, and NEVER LIVE IN THE PAST. LOL!

Thanks for the comments. I hope you will view some of what I have done. I will have them on my web site and when I get the YOU TUBE channel up and running, I'll let you know. Brian, I am certainly with you in that I don't like Facebook or You Tube very much for many things, but at this point they are the only game in town. Always having to deal with nessasary evils in life.

Just Plain Quotes
"Our enemies may not be who we think they are. They are not Major Label monopolies. The world will always have 'majors.' They are not big corporations who own everything. The world will always have 'big' ones. Our enemies are not the loud mouthed critics telling us we will fail. The world will always have those too. Our most dangerous enemy is our own quiet acceptance of the fate we perceive these entities have mapped out for us. The only danger is our own complacency, or inactivity, and our willingness to believe so called experts who tell us we 'can't' and that our grim fate is inevitable." -Brian Austin Whitney
