What I do occasionally is to use the meter/rhythm of a JPF lyric to guide my melody. Using other writer's lyrics sends me in interesting directions. I used these lyrics to guide a new piano solo of mine. Don't think this falls in the realm of copyright infringement since the track developed is a complete different entity. Though I may retain the original title "Summer's End" because it's a very descriptive title.

Stunning piece. Sorry for the long delay. I've been unable to "log in to JPF" for the last four days... seems even longer. I'm blaming my Linux OS or Browser for the problem. Never did solve it... just took a chance and clicked on a "Favorites" link and.... viola... back home again in Indiana. LOL!

Very nice. I like the way the production builds. The only part that slowed down for me was at 2:22. Just felt it needed a little solo line - or perhaps some chorus oohs and ahas - to keep that part moving forward.

On the lyric, only suggestions are "that social climb" and "invitation seemed unkind" in the verse below. These phrases sounded a little judge-y to my ears and took away a bit from the longing expressed in the rest of the lyric.

Thanks for giving "Summer's End" a spin. You are absolutely correct about the verse you mentioned being "judge-y!" He was pretty darn upset with her for leaving him in the lurch! LOL!

The story-line in this song is somewhat true and only the names of the characters were not revealed to prevent the press and paparazzi from inundating this ill-fated pair.

Yessir... Mr. Zaneski hit another of my songs "out of the park" when compared to my version.
