These Songs (Neil Cotton)
As a guitar picker I’m pretty much a hack. I feel like a legend on my porch out back Singing to birds in trees, is all that I need But if you drop by that’s a concert to me
I love to tell stories most sung in 4 chords From my adventures hey some could be yours
A little bit of everyone Is found in these songs. Our lives are pictures Painted by these songs. More than words and chords There’s truth is in these songs.
In social meet & greets some topics are too hot Religion & politics can really boil the pot But in a song we can get away with these Cause art is fair game and open to critique
Those topics stir emotions when talking face to face Leave it to the singers to rattle that cage
A little bit of everyone Is found in these songs. Our lives are pictures Painted by these songs. More than words and chords There’s truth is in these songs.

Neil,
I like what you have going on with this one. Really good idea for a song, and I think the chorus works really well. Depending on your melody, you may trim a word or two on certain lines in the verses, but hard to tell just reading it. Will look forward to hearing this one.
All the best,
Deej

Really like the 1V and the pre, Good stuff! Had a thought for the chorus, (what was it you used to say? Keep or sweep?) A little bit of everything's Found in these songs. A life in pictures Painted by these songs. More than words could ever mean Seems to me Within these songs Within these songs Didn't like that "pot" line- I don't think it's allowed till July so....In social meet & greets some topics are taboo Gotta keep what you believe inside of you But in a song we can get away with these Cause art is fair game and open to critique Probably a million miles from where you're headed but I could hear this as a Texas blues-yeah that's right! Good job here Mr. Neil, hope the music works out for you! -Mike
