Hi Vic:
To my ears... this one has a solid "Eagles" vibe to it. I enjoyed everything about it... words, music, backing! It's a really good song and suspect we will be hearing it again soon... and often. Thanks for sharing. ----Dave

Yeah, I like it too, Vic. Love the guitar sounds on this. When I heard the first chorus, I thought I would have sung these lines a little differently: who could wear the crown If she could take it all Then I heard the second chorus and thought, "Yeah, like that" Scott

Hi Vic.
Nice one Mr. Arnold! Smooth, kind of sad too, but this fella will find his princess, but he needs to not be afraid to jump into the fire you know--next song! I got more Kristofferson than Eagles, but your vocal style has always reminded me of KK on certain songs, but you stay on key a bit better! You have to like KK though, he's real.
Nice production Vic!

Hi Vic, Beautiful song. Love the chorus. I was reading the word "street" too literally at first, forcing me to wonder, "on what street CAN one find love" (and of course there's a dirty joke that could follow) but seriously, when I realized the word "street" has a poetic, less literal application, I then understood how brilliant V1 is. I should not critique past my bedtime, brain activity gets dicey, LOL.. I'm not hearing KK on this, but just you. Good to here the new BIAB oohs and ahs getting a work out. I was wondering how long it would take them to make a few of those. Mike

Good poignant ballad Vic loved the chorus especially. Best of luck with it. Hope it gets a radio play. Don'the know if you listened to all of Sophie's show last week? She played the Beach Boys God Only Knows and reference to them as the Pet Shop Boys in her introduction and after the play lol John

Thank you Ed. Slightly more on key is about the best I can do these days. I blame it all on age. I could have been a contender. :-)

Nice fusion of country and slow rock elements.
I really like your guitar work in this one. The production is good, too.
I liked the harmonies so much I felt like you could sprinkle them in a bit more liberally. For instance, on this line I can hear one in my head: "Because you can't get .. what you need." On the other hand, I think a little less of the background ooos and aahs would work a bit better.
The lead vocals are well performed and mixed but I am hearing a bit of low-mid that is poking its head up around 300Hz or so.
Cool song with excellent guitars and good production.
Peace, TC
PS: outstanding arrangement (I almost forgot!).

Love those harmonies through out and your guitar work is stellar. I get classic Springsteen all day in your vocals.
This song grabs you from the first strum and that crying lead works perfectly with your vocals.

Pretty song, Vic. Well performed and produced—another great effort. Really liked your use of the backing vocals on this one—and, of course, the guitar slays. Enjoyed my listen immensely. Good luck with this one.
All the best,

Hi Mike. Thank you, you're always so positive. Yes, "this street" means the "place he's at".
First time I used the ooohsaaahs. Another tool in the kit.

Not sure, (judging by the story line) what this guy has to offer that would make a lady want him Vic! LOL Liked the tune and I always enjoy hearing your guitars. One thing: I wish the lead-in to, (and the chorus itself) was more dramatic and exhibited more passion like you demonstrate in the outro. Good stuff! -Mike

Hi TC. Thanks for the comments and suggs. I had the low mids down around the 400kz mark 3db so now shifted to 320kz. My ears ain't that great at my age. If you have a chance take a listen. I also added a couple more harmonies but where you suggested didn't work well so took that one back out.
Thanks again for taking the time.

Hi Nelson. Thanks for the comments, not all my guitar work though. Guitar editing is the best I can claim for that. It can take longer than playing it myself though. :-)

I listened to the new version.
The vocal EQ is better, and I think it would work fine if the lead vocal was not quite so 'hot'. Your music is so good, and your voice so powerful on this song, I don't think you need the main vocal levels so high. Let the music envelope those vocals; leave some headroom for that awesome arrangement.
Sounding good.
Peace, TC

Lovely, Vic, very nice sound and production. Lyrically, all the stressed lines; if I needed someone, someone to love, someone like you, are all pretty common and well represented in the world of music. Maybe you could dig deeper and pull something a little different out of your writer's bag of tricks? Just a thought. Ricki

Re the passion, maybe next version. Food for thought, eh?

Thanks Colin. Well, I do now :-). I remember the song but it didn't connect when I was writing it. It was going to be "If you needed somebody to love" but there were too many syllables. And of course that's probably been used too.

Colin,
I thought the same thing at first glance, but then knew that Vic played some of the same stage venues with The Beatles in the early 60's--I just figured George H got the song title idea from Vic...........

Hi Vic, I think the singing comes across as very natural and real. I like those harmonies. The lyric seems to speak in the way someone would speak if they were being vulnerable but didn’t want to be “too” vulnerable. lol Using 3rd person and the word “someone” instead of “you” until the bridge. He’s open, but careful. Very plausible! Nice job. Kristi

The vocals sit in the mix really nice now, Vic. It sounds excellent. Closing in on 'pro' mix territory there, my friend.
