This is a Christmas song I have written (I am not the singer nor I am not the one playing on this track) I am the one who did the little rap part. Love to hear member's feedback. https://soundcloud.com/irwin-abrigo/merry-christmasMerry Christmas ©2017 Irwin Byron Abrigo (Intro) It's Christmas la la la la la la (V1) The season comes again the world's about to say On Christmas day It's the time you feel to give more than you did before come what may (Pre Chorus) In every little home love is celebrated oh oh ooh ooh yeah In every heart peace for us to share that's why I sing that's why I sing (Chorus) Merry Christmas to every boy and girl Merry Christmas to the people round The people round the world sound of joy cheers are going out to you a merry Christmas (V2) Under the Christmas tree there's a treat for me On Christmas day And so the family as happy as can be every way (pre Chorus) In every little home love is celebrated oh oh ooh ooh yeah In every heart peace for us to share that's why I sing that's why I sing (Chorus) Merry Christmas to every boy and girl Merry Christmas to the people round The people round the world sound of joy cheers are going out to you a merry Christmas (Rap) I've bring you no gifts I've bring you no toys I know that's what you've been looking for but where ever you are you can hear my voice and when I sing a song I sing with all my heart So from me to you I send my love It's a greater gift on Christmas day All you boys and girls, mom and dads I wish you a merry Christmas (Chorus) Merry Christmas to every boy and girl Merry Christmas to the people round The people round the world sound of joy cheers are going out to you a merry Christmas

When I think of great Christmas songs in the Soul genre, I think of songs like "This Christmas" (Donny Hathaway), "All I Want For Christmas is You" (Mariah Carey), "Let it Snow" (Boyz II Men), "Merry Christmas Baby (Charles Brown), and even this year's "Can You See"(Fifth Harmony). While all these songs are very different from each other, there is one musical element they all have in common - they are all in a major key (not a minor key like your song).
While there are Christmas songs in minor keys, they are usually traditional ones like "Carol of the Bells", "We Three Kings", or "The Coventry Carol", or more dramatic modern songs like "Mary Did You Know".
I would ask your producer/ beat maker to go back and put the song in a major key. This can be done by altering some, but not all, of the chords along with changing certain melody notes. While the majority of new Pop, Hip Hop and R&B songs seem to be in a minor key, I think a major key will fit the joyful spirit of your lyrics much better.
Also, while the very last chord of the song is a very nice one that I enjoyed hearing a few times in your track, it makes absolutely no musical sense to end a Soul Christmas song on it. The last chord should be the root chord of the song in most cases.
