https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13646069 He's ...... (Cotton & Vaughan) He’s in the doghouse every night He's the yappy dog nipping at her heel That car tire with the rusty nail. The chair where she stubbed her toe He’s her drive thru three feet of snow. He loves to wind her up and watch her go He's the pay bump her boss said no to The traffic light that won't say go through The Visa card that flashes rejected He’s the bill ‘riving unexpected She feels frustrated and neglected b Their quarrels never sort out who’s right- Just who is left He's the Greasy Spoon with the lipstick cup The repo man who won't give up That big slow truck that she can't pass He’s a lazy guy who won’t cut grass He’s bad news like a sniff of swamp gas Their quarrels never sort out who’s right- Just who is left Instrument break Their quarrels never sort out who’s right- Just who is left He's the rash from riding unprotected The dental treatment she neglected The fly that swims in her coffee mug The Centipede in her deep pile rug She’s still there cause love's a drug Their quarrels never sort out who’s right- Just who is left He’s in the doghouse now

This is kind of funny but in a sad sort of way! One reason after another why he's such a loser with no redeeming factors at all. I was glad to at least see the "love's a drug" line. Maybe if each verse ended with a positive trait that maybe shows us that there's hope for him after all and that she's not a complete idiot for putting up with him? Just a thought.

Hey guys!
Cotton & Vaughn--sure sounds as impressive as Rogers & Hammerstein! Great lyrics for a "Cotton-esk" song. Enjoyed the tune, nice melody, and nice acoustic guitar riffs.

What Eddie said. I especially love the poetic device of simile, equating who he is with things he's done (he's the greasy spoon..repo man..etc..). Speaking of "Repo Man" --that line triggered memories of Harry Dean Stanton, and so I had a music video in my head accompanying this--one where each line of the song triggered a clip from one of his films.. Great stuff guys.. Mike
