Wintertime

When the wintertime,replaces summertime
Though seasons change, your love still shines

When the sun retires,we have chimney fires
And the cold blue rain, won't drown our desires

repeat 1 & 2

I will wrap you in my arms,to keep you safe and warm
As the cold wind blows in this winter storm
And you'll write our name on the window pane
And the wine will flow as we feed the flame
As long as we are together,i don't care
I don't care,i don't care,i don't care,i don't care,i don't care,i don't care

Hi Mike:

Good to see you posting songs again. This is a really interesting co-write and while I liked it very much, to me... it needs more in the lyrics department. The message is clear, the vibe is romantic and laid-back and yes, there is a bit of a bluesy feel but I think it is one of those songs a bit difficult to classify, genre-wise. The instrumental break was really good but a bit long. If you plan on keeping it that way, I hope you can find a way to "wing it" a bit to keep the listener's attention.

So much potential here... don't let this one slip away. Enjoyed, ----Dave

Mike & Max, the dynamic duo strikes again.
I like the mood you’re setting here, lyrically.
I really loved the first break… the strumming and the way you brought in the strings.
I would love to hear the Piano panned a bit in the 2nd verse.

You 2 work so well together
Good luck with this one

Beautiful song, Mike. Nice performance, Max.

I love the baroque pop sound Max gets here, especially the middle instrumental parts (there's some timing issues late) reminding at times of Nick Drake's sound with Richard Kirby his arranger on most of his sides..

Good to hear from you, Mike!

Good job & it has a good feel to it.

A good collab Mike. Quite a haunting melody with a good vocal.

Mike (and Max),

Love the melody, vocal and depth of production—really well conceived, performed and executed. It might be nice to have some variation in that second verse, but that’s a personal preference from someone who tends to write more than less. It sounds great just as is. Enjoyed this a lot, and look forward to more from you both.

Regards,

Deej

Hi Mike, and Max.

What a sweet song, great melody. I like the unique arrangement, although I might like to hear the verse repeats at the end of the song--but then that might be more conventional, and not what you were striving for. I enjoyed the collab, good to hear you both together again! Cool lyrics & music.

Really like this one. Different in its approach but visual. Good job. I made a few adjustments. KOS.

Wintertime

[V]
When the wintertime
replaces summertime.
Though seasons change
your love still shines.

[V]
When the sun retires
we have romancing fires. [Chimney fires have a negative meaning.]
And the cold damp rain [blue rain does not fit in my opinion.]
won't drown our desires.

Instrumental:

[V]
When the wintertime
replaces summertime.
Though seasons change
your love still shines.

[V]
When the sun retires
we have romantic fires.
And the cold damp rain
won't drown out our desires.

[V]
I will wrap you in my arms
to keep you safe and warm
As the cold wind blows
in this winter storm.

[V]
And you'll write our names
on the window pane.
And the wine will flow
as we feed the flame

As long as we are together,i don't care
I don't care,i don't care,i don't care,i don't care,i don't care,i don't care

This is really nice, Mike. Being a part-time minimalist myself, I don't see the reason for repeating the first 2 verses. V1, V2, musical bridge (beautiful by the way) V3, V4 and yer done. Short and sweet, but that's just my take. Well done.
