Seems that there comes a time in everyone's life when he or she feels that the era they grew up in is superior to the one being currently lived in.

REMINISCING
(ABOUT THOSE DAYS GONE BY)

c2017 Brian Beecher

On days when I would spill out my emotions
In order to be able to gain clarity
I think back to my earlier being
When I was taught to count my blessing instead of sheep

Although there is dust on top of the old records
Those old songs tell me just where I’m coming from
Never wanted to be unfair to anybody
Even if it felt like it to me and them

Things I may have missed out on made me feel guilty
Would disguise themselves to the point I’d want to cry
But I knew I was bound
To seek others I had found
Reminiscing about those days gone by

I would sit in that revelation for a moment
Wondering if it all was really real
I would tell myself embrace it, love it, own it
Even though it would sometimes be emotional

When a neighbor lady would ask me how’s my love life
There was nothing I could tell her at the time
But I knew I was bound
To seek others I had found
Reminiscing about those days gone by

Al through life I’ve made some difficult decisions
Whether they’ve been the ones still they’re mine
But I know I’m still bound
To seek others not yet found
Reminiscing about those days gone by

Oooh, reminiscing about those days gone by
