Just a rehearsal recording. Let me know what you think... "This Ain't No Race" (WITH LEAD GUITAR)Taking it into the studio next month. LYRICS: 1. Well I’ve been tied up Now I’m tied down And I’m tangled up in knots But you know, it ain’t the worst place I could be ‘Cause I’ve been busted up And broken down And lost everything I’d got But now I’ve got someone to share their debt with me 2. Well, I owe a lot She owes a lot And we’re never catching up But I’ve never felt the need to save my face We know we can’t keep up To what we’ve never caught And, besides it’s way too late But now we’re old enough to know this ain’t no race (bridge) The Joneses were born with spoons in their mouths So they could pay for their head starts And their daddies all strapped rockets on their backs But we could barely pay our entry fee So when the gun went off We were left behind—at the back of the pack… 3. And now we can’t keep up To what we’ve never caught And, besides it’s way too late But now we’re old enough to know this ain’t no race

Not that anybody has listened yet, and that's okay, but I just edited the link, because we rehearsed again last night. And this time, the lead guitar player was there. Just in case anyone wanted to listen.

I know this is a rough recording, Todd, but the vocal was hard to hear and the melody line got kind of lost in the bridge. Otherwise, I liked the energy in the music and it's an interesting take on life. Just as an aside, you may get more reaction to your posts if you spent a little more time here, listening to other people's songs and giving them some feedback. It's a give and take thing and we're all in this together. Ricki

Yeah, I know Ricki. And I appreciate that. Just been turned off by a lot of the politics over here, recently. It's been hard for me to stomach. So, this thread was just a way for me to dip my toe back in over here. Test the waters.
But, thank you so much for listening. I really do appreciate it.

Hello, PT
Love the groove of this one. For a ruff demo, it is great IMO. Have fun with it.
