Hi Glynda. Probably because it's not needed. I tried shouting a couple of times with no response. There are other ways to chat.

I shouted until my fingers were hoarse. My shouts never appeared in order to get a reply. I am running a trot line (fishing analogy) to get an answer to my question about the cost per person for the awards show. I know it cannot be an exact figure as it is based on turnout/RSVP, but perhaps the cost from the last show as a ballpark figure for planning. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Glynda:
Glad to see you posting again. Since I don't use the "shout box" I can't provide assistance. John Lawrence Schick will probably be the best person to ask about this... if not Brian.
Perry:
I saw your query on another thread and assumed Brian would provide you with an answer. I'm assuming you are talking about the JPF Song Contest??? If so, to the best of my knowledge, there is no cost to enter and there are no monetary rewards. (I don't participate but once served as a "judge" in one or two genre categories.) The cost of "hosting" this awards contest is covered by Brian and includes volunteers who serve as judges, etc. Each song genre contestant must submit material in the required format as specified by Brian. No "audience" per se, is involved. No tickets are sold and unless things have changed since my brief tenure, no cash awards are distributed. It's all about "Do Your Songs Move the Listener!" The honor of winning is what this is all about. Bragging rights, in other words... LOL!
I hope I answered your question. If not, I suggest you contact Brian via Personal Message.
Regards, ----Dave

Donna, the Lowland Gypsy & Wymieheimer from the Bayou used to fuel the Shout Box. They added the element of humor. So, I would say it's all their fault. John

Tickets have ranged from $50-$60. Remember, there was no entry fee and most "contests" and even major awards have member fees and entry fees and their show tickets cost 400-2000K dollars and more even for nominees so you can watch a handful of famous people win a handful of categories. Our costs are adding up and the trophies alone cost 5-6K.

I guess my choice of words led to some confusion about cost. I needed the cost of tickets to attend so my friends and family could budget for the show. Thank you for your reply and explanation.

The Shout Box works fine as far as I can see. Not sure what people are referring to? Can someone clarify the problem? I didn't get a single email/note on here about any problems. It's on the left sidebar where it has always been. It may be possible that some of you have turned off the left sidebar in your preferences and if you have, that is the problem. But you should also see the list of top posters, the current most recent posts and who's online. If you see nothing on the left side, go to preferences and make sure you have the two side bars turned on.

It works fine. I think they're saying that the Shout Box is less active Brian. Several of the regulars like Donna and Wyman don't visit much any longer. Bummer... John
