Another of my FAWM songs, written to the prompt "Reflection" I was very excited to be able to play the little lead guitar on this in the break, I'm very new to trying it, but I don't think it detracts. I recorded this in an hour, so I didn't get to listen to it, but I do think I would fix a few vocal choices on it. My original intent was to have a "jazz" song, but I have been told that it isn't jazz, but I claim it is "jazzy" LOL! Hi Tammy:
You can call it "Jazzy" if you want to! No matter what genre claims it... for a FAWM effort, it turned out really well. The melody carries your lyric to another level with a simple, clean guitar backing and most importantly, your vocal is stunning. Getting it recorded in an hour is not too bad depending upon the "gear" you have available. Congratulations on an infectious and very pleasing to the ear song. Best of luck with it.
I'm trying to imagine what Roberta Flack would do with it? LOL! (I always think about the commercial side of things... even though commercial success has managed to elude my miserable attempts.) ----Dave

Definitely jazzy! The intro reminded me of The Girl from Ipanema. I love the idea. I got a little confused because, if she is in the water looking out, it would be the actual world she was seeing, not the refection. Am I misunderstanding that?
I love the line "Birds and trees and bumblebees." Some lines are just fun to say!
You have a great voice for this kind of thing, very easy and pure on the high notes.

Hi Tammy, Great to hear you writing quality songs that showcase your vocal chops and range. The lyric is strong and multi-layered ("reflection" as both the daydream the little girl has and mirror image she sees in that "reflective" daydream--one possible "read" anyway..). The feel is fluid and buoyant like that lake--the music compliments the words perfectly.. Beautiful.. Mike

Very nicely done Tammy! Love the slowhand guitar solo I always enjoy hearing you sing. I think a short bridge might be a nice addition. Keep up the great work!

Well done, the melody works really well for manifesting so quickly. It drifts, making it fit the subject matter.
Still in awe of how fast you have grown, and now you're dipping your toes into guitar solos? What's next? Drums? Sax?

Very folky, nice guitar, acoustic rhythm. Poetic lyrics that add to the mood. In my humble opinion, I would say maybe a little too ambitious on the vocals. I mean, your voice is beautiful, but maybe hold back early and open up a little later in the tune--think it may add some variety for the listener. In any case, wonderful work.
Regards,
Deej

Really nice, Tams. Great imagery in the lyrics and the feel of the guitar fits it perfectly. Well done.

Hey Tammy,
It sounded jazzy to me. I also felt similarly to Dave ... Roberta Flack would have a field day with this. Great tune. Vocal sounds superb and the guitar sounded beautiful. Strong tune. Congrats!

Hi Tammy.
Definitely sounds South American flavor; a little like "Basia meeting Joni Mitchell." Nice sound both vocally and guitar. I'd like seeing the lead solo a little more forward or the rhythm pulled slightly back at that juncture. Congrats on a great write--cool lyrics too!
