Satan's Core
V1 I know of him, but we ain't friends We both walk on different paths He thrives at the bitter bloody end Feeds on the innocent's wrath
V2 I've heard he lives in a dirty pit Somewhere down far below Forever demonized to the holy writ Nowhere else to go
V3 Money, power, evil, all those sins Men do what they like to do He knows what lay beneath the skin To the deepest core of you
Chorus Satan doesn't need any disguise Prince of Darkness, Master of Lies He's not laughing, he's silent, cold Awaiting you to give your soul....
V4 I come to render sound advice If you meet this one someday Give no one power to set a price Such is not your game to play
V5 I tell you because I know your heart That streak of wild and free This one can and will tear you apart Don't think of running to me
Chorus 2 Satan doesn't need any disguise Prince of Darkness, Master of Lies He's not laughing, he's silent, cold If you sacrifice your soul
Outro I know of him, but we ain't friends For I see his own deepest core He thrives at the bitter bloody end And for him, there is no more

Hi Sam. I like this. one bit that strikes me is the (deepest core) usually the core is the centre I don't think it gets any deeper. I'd suggest a more descriptive word that ties with core. like inner/hidden/dishonest etc, this reminded me of a Rabbie Burns poem (To A Mouse) it starts Wee sleekit cowering timorous beastie.
all the best,john
