I Talk To Jesus
On life’s great journey I am not alone For the son of God Is my chaperone, My sacred friend He never leaves me And I often thank him For the love he gives me.
chorus I talk to Jesus My guiding light I talk to Jesus Morning noon and night, From a quick hello To my tales of woe He listens intently, I talk to Jesus He lives within me.
On a wooden cross With a crown of thorns He suffered for me Before I was born, Now I lean on him Through sorrow and danger And I like to praise him For being my saviour.
chorus
bridge When uncertainty looms ominously Christ is my foundation His braveness and his kindness Are my salvation.
chorus

Not a big fan of Jesus music. O religion frankly.
But, I dont think its bad. I would add more biblical imagery in though instead of plain language.
Like: "Through each great flood, I am not alone. For my holy communion, is my chaperone."

There are many ways to say the same things and, like the previous poster, am not really religious although I do like some of the hymns that have come out. Unconscious fears are there for a reason, and during those times we all need to turn to some higher power, whether that be Jesus or something else is up to each one of us. But I do often wonder what Jesus would think of the state of our world today. We have a lot of problems, and I feel that said fears are there most likely due to us not being ready or equipped with enough knowledge to address them (issues such as global warming and extreme income inequality).

Thanks for the feedback B and B, I'm not a religious freak at all, but I respect all religions ,I wrote this for a pal o mine who is seriously into jesus, he works for a christian charity doing building work sometimes in Africa, I agree it could use more colour in places, but unless a musician wants to make the song I'll be moving on from it, I feel a bit of a phoney but then Johnny Cash didn't really shoot that dude, or did he, hey thanks again All the best.john.

hi john heres my comment. this is just only my opinion. you talk to jesus, does he talked back to you? i know he doesnt respond to our prayers but somehow we feel hes talking back to us by giving us some signs like in a dream or some answered prayers or using other people to give us some kind of comfort to our woes. its a nice idea or concept for a country song. hope this will help.

This a well written lyric. You capture what I would consider the essence of what it would be like to have this kind of relationship with Jesus! Those who follow the teachings of Jesus are very centered and magnanimous. Those who use religion to justify their hate and bigotry are reprehensible and pervert the teachings of Jesus. I prefer the latter! Nice job!

Dear Mr. Lynman Bacolor...... Yes, Jesus does responds to our prayers! Sir I'm sorry you feel that way. Please see scriptures below.
“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” ( John 9: 31).
Jeremiah 29:13 King James Version 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jesus loves you my friend! I pray that you receive him as your Lord and savior.

Mr. beechnut79- In regards to the things that is going on in the world today! My friend please read ( Matthew 24: 3-31) and ( 2 Timothy 3: 1-5) from out of the Holy Bible. This will help you better understand why so much is happening in this world today. God bless my friend. Dennis,

We all must choose for ourselves the perspective we will take on life after death, but all lives must end. A life well lived comes to a fearless end in any case. My friend of over 25 years passed away today at 80+ years of age. He was a singer in a quartet, a musician (jazz guitar) and a retired Deputy Sheriff. He was married five times and never gave up on love or life. We spent time together as his health was failing. He pulled a melody out of his vintage Les Paul that was a dreamy and peaceful air, comforting and calming. I wrote words for his piece to capture that feeling, the twilight of life.
Now comes the twilight of the day, All cares just melt away, And all below the evening star Find gentle peace.
The last warm rays of setting sun, Now dim as day is done, The nightingale calls from afar As labors cease.
And with long shadows, There comes a breeze, To carry troubles Away with ease, As you please,
The rugged hills are dark and bold, Under skies of crimson gold, And all the birds fly quickly by Back to the nest,
And with an end to fevered rush, Snuggled under twilight’s hush, We share a little sleepy sigh, In welcome rest.
And as the night falls, And eyelids close, The need for sleep calls, In sweet repose, So it goes,
Bathed in the light of lunar beams, We’re free to dream our dreams, Until the morning sun makes Rainbows in the dew.

I recorded Chuck playing his melody on a CD intending for his wife to sing the lyric and record them together, but Chuck went into the hospital and was unconscious most of the remainder of his sojourn on Earth. I am hoping to get a friend of mine that has a recording studio to finish what was started for Chuck's posterity.
