Get Out of The Way www.soundclick.com/arealrushus Verse1 I'm invisible most of the time Lost in my world of rhythm and rhyme When pride and envy stand in my way I'm my worst enemy on any given day Verse 2 When I think it's all about me I lose perspective , can no longer be Living in the moment alert and aware When humility disappears into thin air Chorus Get out of the way...I'm blocking the light Standing between what's wrong and what's right I caste a shadow over all I believe When I allow my weaknesses to deceive Verse 3 Stand tall and let my light shine Being true to myself is the bottom line Follow my heart...let reason be my guide Knowing that persistence can't be denied Verse 4 I need a reminder as the days go by Wake up call before the well runs dry Keep the focus on what's in front of me The older I get the the harder it will be.

Hey Terry! Awesome blues with a message. I enjoyed this a whole lot, the music and the lyrics. You may want to update your printed lyrics though as there aren't what you were singing. Very cool!

Yeah, I'll chime in on this one, arealush. Listening to this, I picture myself in a cool blues/jazz bar, drink in hand and . . . just . . . chilling . . . with a really good buzz going! Really cool, smooth sound. Love the piano work on this--and slick vocals. If there's one suggestion I would make, as a listener, I'd love to hear more the "get out of the way fool" line. I think you only hit it twice, but I'd nail it at least once more. It's an engaging hook.
All the best,
Deej

Hey there arealrush..........great song, with a standard blues number, these lyrics shine. Love the message and your phrasing!! Good singing, too! FINE stuff! -Tom

Cool laid back blues tune.
I would have liked more references to the hook in the tune - "Get out of the way"
It works well as a mellow tune but I can hear this being done in a much meaner way, too (and more guitar riffs!).
Good job.
Peace, TC

Thanks IronKnee for the kind comments!
TC Perkins, I think there could well be a harder version by virtue of the power " get out of the way"! I might try that on for size as an exercise!
E Swartz , thanks for taking the time to listen and your kind comments!

Hi Terry, Loving this..kind of a paired down "Sweethearts At The Rodeo" ("The Byrds") sound" and I love me a little bit of that "cosmic country" sound. Beautiful vocals and sound. Mike
