I'm experimenting with recording readings from my blog " Up In The Holler". Here is a piece called "Imagine You're A Carpenter". It's relatively short...a minute and 19 seconds. You can read it here.

Well, Kurt. I'm assuming that you're the carpenter and that you built your own house.

Kurt, Nice job - somewhat subtle but certainly effective. It might help to slow the pace down a little so people have more time to appreciate what is going on and try to correlate to something in their life they poured their heart into. Skip

Skip Thanks for the input, Skip. The original recording was closer to 2 minutes in length. I think my fear of dead air from back in my radio days took over, and I went through and cut out all of the spaces. I should probably have another go (or three) at it.

Hey Kurt,
Well written and delivered. And the message is spot on. Yes, I'd agree with you doing it again. Or just put up the original with dead air. Dead air = dramatic pause , especially needed at the end.
cheers, niteshift

Kurt, you have a great voice for documentary and voice-over stuff!
This is interesting and well recorded.

Clever, Kurt. I couldn't help but wish there was a little music playing in the background though, just something sparse, acoustic. Then, if you did re-record with some air space here and there, it wouldn't be dead air. Just a thought. Well done!
