I know that technically these are not mp3s, but I wasn't sure where else to post them. This is a 3 song YouTube playlist from my appearance at the Bluebird Cafe last Sunday night. For those of you who have never seen me play live, this is a pretty good approximation of what you get. The first song is from my upcoming album "Ameraucana", the second is from my most recent album "One More Night In Nashville", and the third is from my 2009 album "What's Not To Love About That?" Just putting them here to share. I don't really need suggested changes on these songs at this point in time. Enjoy! (Or don't...whatever.)

What a fun show, Kurt! Thanks for sharing. Almost as good as being there, but I'm not sitting on an uncomfortable chair in an over-crowded room, and I can sing along off key wearing my jammies! Ricki

Nice Kurt, I was most impressed how you worked the crowd, always hard to be engaging live. Makes me wanna get out there and start doing that again, it's been a while since I played, I did 3/4' covers and 1/4 my own stuff for one stretch of about a year. It's tough when you have to call your audience and ask them to show up!

Hi Kurt:
Enjoyed "Circlin' the Drain" as you performed it at the Bluebird. One of my big regrets in life... not going to the "Bird" when I lived and worked in Nashville. So many of my classmates were on the staff at Vanderbilt University and I never even had time to take any of them to lunch, either. Dang, life is too short.
Loved your stage presence and performance. Clever write and great audience reactions. Best of luck with your music career and song catalog.
All the best, ----Dave

Quite a trio of songs, all super. My Dog Jesus is just a great closer. The crowd was awesome that night. Made my job way easier. A lot of times I start with "My Dog Jesus", especially if the crowd has never heard me before. That way, they don't have any preconceived notions about me, and they have to deal with it as it comes. I almost always have to play it at the Bluebird, though.

Hey Kurt,i enjoyed your set.How cool is it that you can say you played The Bluebird! They need a way better backdrop though.Mike I play there on a semi-sorta regular basis. On this particular night, they asked me to fill in for someone who couldn't make it. I'm doing another Sunday Night Writers series show in June, and in April I am hosting a dinner time round with my friends Trey Ward, Kathy Hussey, and Wood Newton. The Sunday night shows are sponsored by the RIAA (not the Rhode Island Alcoholics Anonymous) and so they put that ratty banner up. If I stood up, you wouldn't see it so much, and instead you would see the neon bluebird, but sitting feels more intimate to me in that space, so I generally plop my butt in a chair.
