I figure I'll post one song per week for people to hear and you can give your review on it, or not. If you want to you can rate it out of 5 and explain what you liked and disliked about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXDAYlhdkyg&sns=emhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.O.L.Y.H.O.L.Y By Florida Georgia Line When the sun had left and the winter came And the sky thought to only bring the rain I sat in darkness All broken hearted I couldn't find a day I didn't feel alone I never meant to cry, started losing hope But somehow baby You broke through and saved me You're an angel, tell me you're never leaving Cause you're the first thing I know I can believe in You're holy, holy, holy, holy I'm high on loving you, high on loving you You're holy, holy, holy, holy I'm high on loving you, high on loving you You made the brightest days from the darkest nights You're the river bank where I was baptized Cleansed from the demons That were killing my freedom Let me lay you down, give me to ya Get you singing babe, hallelujah We'll be touching We'll be touching heaven You're an angel, tell me you're never leaving Cause you're the first thing I know I can believe in You're holy, holy, holy, holy I'm high on loving you, high on loving you You're holy, holy, holy, holy I'm high on loving you, high on loving you I don't need these stars cause you shine for me Like fire in my veins, you're my ecstasy You're my ecstasy You're holy, holy, holy, holy I'm high on loving you, high on loving you You're holy, holy, holy, holy I'm high on loving you, high on loving you You're the healing hands where it used to hurt You're my saving grace, you're my kind of church You're holy This is currently the #1 song on Country's Billboard. It is by Florida Georgia Line. I didn't like the religious imagery because of personal taste but the verses were well written. The chorus was short and sweet. I found the drug reference to ecstasy out of place in the bridge. Ecstasy is a drug which is powerful in the short term in creating euphoria it isn't a drug that you get addicted to taking. It is not a drug that you'd take every day. I guess the writers didn't know that. It throws me off the meaning of the song. Is he talking about a one night stand or someone he wants to be with forever? I also felt the melody to the verses sounded like Michael Buble - Home. Way too similar. When I heard it it distracted me from the song and Immediately made me want to turn it to listen to Buble. The vocals soar. Very easy on the ears. All things aside I'd give it 3 stars out of 5. One of the co writers Busbee has written some pop songs that I love like Kelly Clarkson - Dark Side. There is also a Norweigan who's never had a country song recorded by a major until this song. So this song wasn't written by primarily country writers. Very interesting.

The chorus is gorgeous and well sung. Words were pretty pedestrian. I can listen to a very catchy and pretty song and never even pay attention to the words. Their song DIRT was amazing and they have catchy rock/pop songs that are infectious.....

Good production, well performed, gimmicky, aimed straight at the commercial country market. What's left to say?

Standard commercial popular music. Little that is memorable or remarkable. The kids will like it as background music.

Well, It sorta sounds like what is coming out of Nashville at present. In time it may catch on. Not quite a barn burner.
