Hi John:
I listened yesterday and did not have time to comment. Thanks for posting. Another example of how versatile ol' Mike can be. Man, that is the longest lyric I've seen in a while! Better him than me... when it comes to singing it... LOL! It is an interesting song and I enjoyed my listen.

Man this is fantastic. Michael ... great stuff. One of my favorites I have heard from you thought there are so many. Love it. What a great lyric. It has now been favorited on SC!
John ... thx for posting.

A real attention grabber and great lyric, Mike. My favourite line is "Dan the disappearing man". The music is weird and wonderful.

Sheeesh....you could put together 3-4 fine songs with the ideas/lines in that lyric. Amazing. Cool delivery. Different in the best sense of the word.
Wow!

I've gone back to this a few times now. Does anybody remember "The Friends of Mr Cairo" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__eZAuc2f-QThis is to sideshows as Vangelis song was to old movies. It makes me feel so much more privileged to have been able to write the words to your "Galway's Sons" music Michael.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Wow! I've been busy the last few days and I just looked in and saw that John V posted this old song of mine--what a nice thing to do! And so to John V and also Dave R, Dave B, Calvin, Michael, Janice, Bud, , Vic, Floyd, and Tom..I'd like to say thanks for giving this a spin (and some of you a spin "again" since I remember many of you gave favorable comments last time. It really is two songs smooshed together, as I couldn't figure out how to make it more like a standard song--there was just too much narrative and I couldn't figure out what to do away with. And so there's a little homage to Townes Van Zandt's "talking blues" sound that is the bread around a reggae sandwich--admittedly an odd combination.. Anyway, thanks again John V for posting this--it has made my week, and thanks all for giving another listen.. Mike

Super cool and super original Mike. Love the instrumentation! Like the FX (or lack of FX) on your vocal. Sounds like you were inside the microphone. And that tuba sounding bass really works well. Best, John
