Well, here it is June already. Got my FAWM lyrics I could revise, but this is a new one. I’ve been wanting to sit outside and write, but this came when that wasn’t possible, thanks to the weather! :/ But I did have the weather channel on during this write! Truely! (fun fact...) Anyway, I welcome any crits and/or comments! THE WIND BLOWS She stands there With her heart strings Tied up in knots She’s alone now Almost frozen But a tear finally drops It’s an old tale Nothing changes In love and war She’s got questions Feelings dangling What is living for [ch] Ohh, the wind blows And no one knows What it all means The sun sets We go to bed Then get lost in our dreams And the wind blows The wind blows All the chatter In the forest So much to know Many stories She listens closely It’s Mother Nature’s show Life is stormy And relentless But she can be tough Another journey Paths to clear now Rise above the flood [ch] Ohh, the wind blows And no one knows What it all means The sun sets We go to bed Then get lost in our dreams And the wind blows The wind blows [br] She sighs at the wonder of the canvas of light Savor ing her moments outside with the night Hope seems to bring her a wave of desire As she takes another step on the high wire Repeat ch ©2016 Kristi McKeever

Hi Mike, Thanks for reading and your comments. Coming from "inside the write" it's interesting to hear that it could mean many things! I'm okay with that, as long as you're not frustrated by it! Kristi

Hi John, Thanks for your nice comments. It was intended to kind of be all encompassing like that. My metaphors likely lose some people, but can't help it...lol...they sneak in all the time! Thanks for stopping by! Kristi

Hi Kristi, this is very good. One little suggestion, Change savors to savoring, I think it flows better but keep or sweep. Good luck with it.

Hi John, Good idea with the “savoring”...makes it more in the “now”. I put it in to "test drive" it a bit. Thanks for the suggestion! Kristi

Hi Kristi,
This is beautiful, from start to finish. I especially love the chorus and bridge.
The forest is always a nice symbolic choice for soul searching.
The high wire doesn't fit the natural imagery elsewhere, but it's a great rhyme and gets what I presume is your intended meaning across quite nicely..
Great work!
Mike

Hi Mike, Aha...very true about the high wire. I hadn’t noticed that. Yes, it’s one of my metaphors and if you took it to mean life...the path of life, that’s what was intended. I can’t imagine anything else there for that. So yeah, “meaning” can trump imagery for that one. Thanks for your feedback and very nice comments! Kristi
