Paris Hilton was on tv and inspired the words. This is an older lyric that's been sitting around. It was written with rock in mind. Thoughts and suggestions very welcome.
(Vs) Here you come with your Maserati flashin your money, flauntin that body Braggin about your private school brownstone mansion with a king size pool (Vs) Mommy and daddy spoiled you rotten gave you everything you have gotten But the love they have kept from you You think that you can purchase too
(Ch) I see faces in your mirror as it floats around the room All those faces in your mirror they're not here for you See those faces in your mirror? Read between the lines All those faces in your mirror Only show up at party time
(Vs) Your life is filled with fancy soiree's exotic vacations; Broadway plays But you're as empty as your bank is full your popularity will have to do
(Ch) I see faces in your mirror as it floats around the room All those faces in your mirror they're not here for you See those faces in your mirror? Read between the lines All those faces in your mirror Only show up at party time
The faces in your mirror aren't real The faces in your mirror can't feel Faces in your mirror, break them, break them

Hi L.J., Many times we like to look at the failures of the rich kids, especially the super rich. Sometimes we forget they are people too and that having money doesn't make you invulnerable to having the same weaknesses as everyone else. It also doesn't make you automatically happy. I like this one. I will make a couple of small suggestions: But "your" "HEARTS" as empty as your bank is full "JUST" show up at party time Here is my own take on this, from a few years ago: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=576195&songID=6354638

Hi L.James,
I like how you personify the mirror in this and play around with the concept...makes us think a bit. I'm still absorbing the meaning of it, but I think this is a pretty tight write. A couple thoughts I had: this line could be stronger: "gave you everything you have gotten". It's a repetitive statement, imo, so I think you can get more out of that line. Surprisingly, there are several rhymes available...soft rhymes which you can get real creative with.
The other thought I had was in with this line: "the faces in your mirror can't feel". I actually don't know the answer to this, but here it is: is it "can't" or is it "won't"? "can't feel" falls along the lines of "aren't real". "Won't feel" leans towards a new idea, perhaps.
Just my two cents...
Kristi
