New ink, slow reflective:
Sometimes
Life doesn’t always give us what we want Or most times even give us what we need And sometimes when we aren’t even looking It can drive us right down to our knees
But sometimes----------------------------------------} Chorus Like a crocus from the snow Like an arrow pointing out Which way we should go Life gives us a little sign To point us on our way To fulfill our biggest dreams Or just complete our day
It could be just a little nudge You might not even see Something like the apple That fell from Newton’s tree It might be like a lightning bolt Out of a clear blue sky Or seeing someone notice you From the corner of your eye
Yes sometimes----------------------------------------} Chorus Like a crocus from the snow Like an arrow pointing out Which way we should go Life gives us a little sign To point us on our way To fulfill our biggest dreams Or just complete our day
When your skies have all turned to gray---------} Bridge The world outside is black In the middle of the day Don’t ever be surprised to find A candle burning brightly Leading you along the right way
Yes sometimes----------------------------------------} Chorus Like a crocus from the snow Like an arrow pointing out Which way we should go Life gives us a little sign To point us on our way To fulfill our biggest dreams Or just complete our day Copyright 2016 John W Selleck BMI Songwriter

I think we have to put in 16 hour days just to see a glimmer of hope when they're over. Then, we have to prepare for the next day.

Hi Jim, I know those days like a best friend. I worked 8 years of 72 hours a week average just so I could retire at 62. I even did some 36's when someone couldn't show up in the snow. Thank God those days are gone! LOL!

Hi John,
Nice, positive vibe here with many good visuals. I like the message and how we all can easily miss the "signs" that are all around us. You draw attention to the good stuff right under our noses! I think there's universal appeal there.

Hi Kristi, Great to see you. Thanks for the read, and the nice compliments. I am trying to get back in the groove as I am moving back to Tennessee in early July, and starting to make connections with people again. I don't know if I will ever "Make it" as a songwriter, but even if I don't, it is something I forgot how much I enjoyed doing.

A good positive lyric John, the simple things are often the most rewarding to us Travis

Hi Travis, Thanks for the read, glad you like it. The older I get, the more the simple things in life mean to me. I don't need the fancier things, just the things that get me through each day with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of pleasure.
