Paul,
I like the raw "club recording feel" with this number. A few harmonies might enhance the chorus IMO.

Enjoyed my listen, Paul:
In places, your vocal is "drowned" by the way your guitar is mic'd... but hey, it's a rock song and you can do that thang any old way you wanna! Lots of potential with this... and Eddie has the best ears at JPF. Thanks for sharing. ----Dave

Yeah man. I felt like I was standing outside a venue trying to decide whether to go in or not. I did and I liked it!!

Thanks for listening Mike. It does sound like a Dead recording, very loose but it swings I think. I recorded it live with drums and one guitar and vocals and overdubbed the bass later.
Thanks again!

Hi Dave. Thanks for listening and commenting. I put a one condenser mic right next to the ceiling so it was about in the middle of the drums and guitar but overhead of them. No mic on the amp. The vocals came out of a PA system. I thought I had it cranked up pretty high but it does sound like the guitar over powered it a bit,

Hi Paul, Very cool! This reminds me a little of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. I'm loving the "abandon" in your singing. Most excellent. Mike

That's a great listen, Paul.
As Mike said, the "abandon" in the vocal is perfect. Terrific live recording (though as mentioned...would be nice to have the vocal a tad up in the mix).
Whoever is drumming did a heck of a job!
Enjoyed.

Thanks folks! I do like the sound of the recording. I am no pro ad you can tell, not premeditated at all, but I feel I get a real nice sound when I use only one mic and place the mic at ceiling height. It seems to funnel all the sounds into one. Ties it all together so to speak. Sounds like folks agree. With a little bit of tweaking I could improve it. Thanks for listening!

Hey Paul,
There is something really cool about hearing a "live" sounding recording. Listening to your song made me feel like I should be grabbing a table near the stage and flagging down a waitress for a picher of beer. Really good stuff! Good playing trumps digital tinkering any day! Thanks for sharing!

Hey there Paul,
This was a lot of fun! I'll echo what some of the others have said -- I want to be sitting at a bar, swigging a beer, and listening to you playing this live!
Thanks for sharing -- your enthusiasm is infectious!!
Cheers, Beth

Good snappy blues, Paul. Just the kind of music I like.
